I have been thinking a lot about which console is the best, and I decided that I would explain my opinion from an objective standpoint, and hope to get the entire Escapist to acctually think OBJECTIVELY this time, not just by saying "The console I bought is better because it's the one I chose and I know the best of everyone in the world, listen to me (insert stupid fanboy chatter)" FUCK, I hate fanboys.
Yes. I own an Xbox 360, but I have played each of the stupid consoles (yes the xbox has flaws too, hooray for you if you find it heartwarming to hear that it does) and thus have at least SOME experience as to how the console plays
The problem about the Playstation was this:
A) It promised to be better than the xbox (or at least thats what everyone think) but it definately is not. The graphics are almost the same, dispite it's heavier hardware. The memory is about the same, each game looks the same. Which leads me to:
B) It was much too expensive for people who didn't really bother with what they chose.
C) Xbox Live is a better community, unfortunately it consists of fucking twats, but the service there is much better.
The Wii was, of course, graphically challenged (Yes, it's a disease now), and still wanks the same games over and over (see Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Starfox) and just doesnt appeal to people who are mentally over the age of 5, plus the motion stickwaggler is a huge fuck (even though its good that they at least tried to do something new)
The xbox has too much of expensive addons and costs a lot of money if you want ANYTHING of the dishes served on the community market.
There. Thats about it generally. But what makes the xbox better is that it was released about 2 or 3 years BEFORE the playstation, and yet the playstation offers NO difference. This wont change, the playstation 4 will come out two years later, and will ultimately play much like the xbox 3 or 4, i dont really know the name.
The Xbox has a bad habit of buying licenses to tempt people to buy the xbox to be able to get more exclusives and better upgrades to their games. Playstation has such flaws about exclusives too.
And thus fanboys are created, because I say Gears of war is much better than Uncharted, because I have not FUCKING played uncharted, I have an xbox. Prototype is better than Infamous because its for BOTH consoles. This is whats causing fanboy-wars. Exclusives. Stop making them.
Also the playstation is a ***** to encode games for, take THAT PS3 Fanboys.
