I liked the N64 controller. Hard to get used to but overrall quite comfortable once you get used to it. Original Xbox is a bulky monstrosity but it works so I'm okay with it.

I'd say my vote has to be for the NES and SNES controllers. They were functional and relatively easy to use but to this date they were the only controllers that ever gave me carpal tunnel. It's the wierdest thing.

I actually liked the original xbox control... If only they had kept the design Y.Y Though i'm not a fan of the wiimote... honestly, the nunchuck would have made a better remote in itself than the bloody stick with 3 or 4 buttons so far below that i can't bend my thumb down the necessary 180 degrees from the directional pad. >.>

I'd say dualshock controllers, especially for PS 2 and 3. The analog sticks are in very unnatural places for your thumbs. (Well, okay, the controller isn't the worst but is quite bad in my opinion).

EDIT: and I like Gamecube's controller, it fits the hand, and the left analog stick was in the position that the thumb naturally is in.

This will make anyone laugh about Nintendo's controllers over the years. But I don't get it, why do people complain about the PS3's controller, it's pretty simple, and I don't get what the problems are.

OT: I'd say Nintendo 64, of course it worked, but that was after you got used to it.

Gonna go with the original xbox controllers. Or, in retrospect, the original NES controllers. You'd play so much the sharp corners would force you to stop sooner or you'd end up with a nasty pain in your palms.

Dreamcast, or the N64. Both were really, REALLY retarded, no matter how good Goldeneye64 was.

Of what I have used probably all the playstation controllers, they are just so uncomfortable with their joystick placement

I don't really like the N64 controller. But my favorites are all the controllers from the past two generations (except the Dreamcast) and the NES controller.

Of the current gen? The PS3 controller by MILES.

Of all time? Either the power glove, or Magnavox Odyssey controller.

Most comfortable has to be the 360 controller, and best has to go to Steel Battalion's controller(s).

I never liked the N64 controller, I just don't get how that can be the right shape for optimum gaming.

I also hate the xbox and 360s, they just seem like fat, clumsy, warped versions of the PS controller which is in my opinion perfect.

but really the Wii is the worst purly because it lies about what it does.
No it doesn't. Nintendo never stated that the Wii remote was a 1:1 motion device. It was never claimed as one, except by wishful dreamers of the media. All they said was "Hey, if you move the controller, it does stuff!" That's precisely what it did.
Ahhh, fanboy alert. If they are going to release motion control then it better bloody work, thats like saying that Xbox never acctually promised better graphics, they didn't but it is a given, it should be there.
It does work. Quite well, actually. I shake the controller, and a response happens on screen. I use motion to control the game. Motion control. Yes, it would have been nice to have 1:1 at the start, but that would have driven the price of the console to astronomical hieghts.
You flick your wrist and something unrelated happens on screen, its not even close to motion control, and is therefore not a good controller. If it was expensive and 1:1 then it would be fine.
So since pushing a button hardly relates tothe action it pertains to, that means that Button control does not exist, and that any controller ever concieved fails? I'm not sure I follow your logic.

And I'm not talking like the $20 it costs to get a Wii Motion+ now. I mean a triple digit increase in price.
Its not how great other controllers are, for me its what the Wii dosen't offer that is a shame. Ill stick with a mouse and keyboard for now.
Okay then. Have fun!
Is Wii your only console?
No. I also own a Dreamcast. I had a 360, but my brother took it. I plan on getting a new one soon, and possibly a PS3 when Heavy Rain comes out.
Don't bother with consoles, go PC. I did and its the best thing I ever did. Mouse and Keyboard are great for FPS, RTS and RPG, way better than Wii waving :).
I actually liked using the Wii Remote for FPSs. Plus the all of consoles have good RPGs on them, and they all control well.

The power glove. While it was a controller accessory, you could use it as a controller, and my god, it is horrifying. Although, I was able to land the Top Gun plane with it, when I couldn't with my normal controller.
Hmmm sounds exactly like you've watch AVGN's power glove review...sad you pass it off as your own experience. But hey the brain is really good at pulling that shit...

wow, I didn't expect so many people to say the N64 controller. I liked it, and the fact that it had those 3 prong thingies was okay for me because the majority of good games only used the buttons of one controller holding setup. Kirby 64 used the two outside prongs and didn't at all use the joystick or Z button. Most games used the right hand holding the middle prong and the left holding the left, which meant the use of the D-pad and L button was difficult, but they usually made those not do anything.
I'm getting off-topic.
My least favorite controller (of consoles I have played, I've never played a CDI or Magnavox Odyssey) is o far the PS3. It just feels so small and my hands always slip off when I try to use those two marshmallow shoulder buttons. Plus, the early ones without rumble are just so freakin light, I lose my grip.

Not the worst, but the PS3 controller stopped me getting a PS3 two days when I could get a new one for $180,- plus Killzone 2.
