I'm rather fond of the Pathfinder armor from Tribes: Ascend. A game that is absolutely awesome, but few people seem to talk about.

I'm led to believe this other guy is from Fire Emblem, but I don't know much about those... SHAZBOT!

Monster Hunter in general has a lot of awesome armors, but a personal favorite from first gen looks wise has been Basarios.

And from the most recent game, Tri G, Barioth X melee armor.

Lets have some props to the real life Teutonic Knights.
I have a new respect for Medieval Germany.
Yup. The german designers really are something. That pic is drawn and quite stylized, but even photos of actual armor they had look amazing. The gothic style is by far my favorite.
I especially love the so called sallet, the helmet design in the photo above, too bad the only game ive seen using it was in The Witcher 2.

I always liked the Inquisitorial Stormtoopers from Warhammer 40K.

Unfortunately model-wise they've pretty much been replaced by the Kasrkin, and it's just not the same.

I'd have to go with the Iron Man Extremis armour. Because Iron Man is awesome.

No matter how hard you try, you will never have cooler armour than this.

The Bugbear armour from Kingdom of Loathing

Also the Ebony and Ordinator armours from Morrowind are pretty cool.

Torchlight has some mighty fine armors, for example:

However, the only armor that made me feel epic in any game was Paladin armor from Gothic 2

Also, honorable mention goes to armor designs from Oni

Just look at it!

Well, the space marine armour has to be there. Whatever chapter it is, it always looks badass. If space marines are meant to be such massive badasses capable of withstanding far more than the already badass-armoured imperial guard, they've got to look like it, and they've also got to look like they can liquify a face with a punch. The massive armour does all that while still looking mobile. I'm not such a big fan of chaos armour, as...well, could they be trying any harder to look evil? Seriously, all the spikes and chains and what appears to be skin, it's a little over the top, but then again, what about WH40K could be described as not OTT?

All of the armour sets from Earth defense force insect armageddon deserve a mention. The soldier armour strips away the BS for a simple, starship trooper-esque design, the engineer armour looks like a support class should, like he's linked in with god knows what under there, the jet armour is just goddamn awesome, and the heavy armour looks like a splicing incident between a man and a tank.

Offhand, the best armors I can think of?

The Remnants Armor from Fallout: New Vegas, especially when you pick it up off the adventurer in the Deathclaw Promontory.

The Full Plate Mail +1 set you get from the assassin just before you enter the final boss room in Baldur's Gate. You look like a boss when you carry it over to TotSC/BGII.

The Aslyferund Elven Chain +5 in Baldur's Gate II. This green and mustard-colored armor that makes you immune to hits from any regular weapons. It's awesome.

Garrus Vakarian's alternate camo pattern armor from the Mass Effect 3: From Ashes DLC. Makes him look like some sort of futuristic desert warrior.

The N7 Defender Armor, also from ME3. Makes you look awesome when you're fighting.

The Advanced Unitology Suit from the original Dead Space. Insanely overpowered, has the highest damage resistance of any suit in-game, and has all sorts of awesome symbols covering the entire rig.

Ishak Pasha's Armor from Assassin's Creed: Revelations. Think "Iron Man with a hood". Freaks out guards whenever you're running in the city. So good.

May I add a non-human armor because it just looks cool as either an armor or an exoskeleton to alien life form.

If you're curious as to where this came from, it's a scrapped concept art of the main protagonist of Warp.
