The ODST from the Halo universe. Would say Spartans but that's too obvious. How much more awesome can you get than people who drop out of space to kill aliens?? I think that is what makes Halo 3:ODST so popular. The feeling you get to be one of them is cool.

I also like "The Dinochrome Brigade" from Keith Laumer's Bolos universe. Sentient tanks that embody the best of humanity in terms of courage and ingenuity, the Brigade is their heritage.

The Tanith First and Only. The only future is that of attrition, as they are the only survivos of the plante's destruction at the hands of CHaos scum.. They Fight to win themselves a homeworld, but are frequently denied that which they have single handedly deserved.

Death Korps of Kreig.

Actually represent the WWI level look, feel, and tactics that IS the 40K Imperial Guard.

Gonna go with Imperial Sardaukar. I just like the name. Sardaukar. Sounds like a rotten sandwich.

A badass rotten sandwich.
I see your Sardaukar and raise you Feydakin. Tell me that doesn't sound more badass.

Does....Jedi count? Because if it does, I win this thread so hard it's not even funny....

If it doesn't... Orbital Drop Shock Trooper is a very badass name because it actually means something, and isn't just some random cliched manly-sounding proper noun.

I mean I love Shepard.... but Spectre? Why would an Asari or Salarian even KNOW what a "spectre" is in the first place? Yes yes, I know. Special Tactics and Reconnaisance. But that's just so cheesy, that it conveniently makes a badass english word.
Well, being fair, it's just the Human translation that lines up that way. For all we know, the aliens don't even use an acronym at all. Keep in mind, universal translators are canon.

It IS a very forced acronym/portmanteau, though. Not as bad as FEAR, but still...

Hmm...FEAR reminds me, SFOD-D (Special Forces Operational Detachement- Delta, i.e Delta Force) is pretty bad ass too.

The Imperial Sardaukar

An organization so manly, you grow a beard just reading their name.

Depends on how you pronounce it.

Feh-DIE-kin -- not badass.
Fey-dah-KEEN -- very badass.
