Basically, for me... it all comes down to two simple steps:
1. Do I think I'll enjoy it?
2. Can I afford it?
If both of these can be answered "yes" then I buy the game.
I honestly don't care how long a game is for how much money; I'm not looking to get 60 hours out of a 60-dollar game. Not every game needs to be super long, and if I own a game, chances are I'm gonna play it again someday.
I mean, I binged the Metal Gear Solid Legacy Collection for the first time this summer and already I'm kind of jonesing to play MGS4 again. And if my rough estimations are correct, I've spent at least a week of my life playing Kingdom Hearts II, not to mention the rest of the franchise.
So, really, I guess I don't think too hard about my game purchases.
