I recently started at college and met a girl. After meeting her, my grandmother told me about a cousin I have that is apparently going to the same college. all I know of my cousin is her first name, which happens to be the name of the girl I met. There are at least two different girls with the same name in my college, so I can't be sure either way if she's my cousin. I had been looking to have a relationship with this girl before I hheard about my cousin and I have no idea how to proceed. Should I talk to her about the possibility that we are related? Should I go out with her and just take the risk (which is 50% as far as I know)? It's only my 4th cousin, so it's not like it'd be illegal to date her, but is it better to know and risk creeping her out even if we aren't or is it better to remain ignorant with a good chance of getting the girl?
