Hehehehe...it really is funny how any time you need some material you can always just give "them" a little poke. The banner on the main page that links to today's comic has a picture of Shinji crying, I was already chuckling when I saw that, thinking "We're going back here, eh? Wonder what's in store this time."

While not directly making fun of it, the implication that you easily can and use it as a fall-back is still pretty funny in it's own right.

Yeah, as an Eva fan, I know what it's like to have to deal with overreactions. Yes, Eva is a good show with a lot of influence and plenty to think about: It still has problems that should be satirized.

Seriously, grow a spine and don't take it so seriously, (Hell, i kind of laughed at the last Eva strips and I'm a big fan)

And that's a good attitude to have towards it People that get pissed off at Grey for some of the Eva comics he's made shouldn't be angry that he's pointing out the humorous (when you sit down and actually think about it) aspects of the show, but rather they should laugh with everyone else and be glad that something they enjoy is actually getting attention.

The show actually has some really funny scenes as well: Pen-Pen's introduction, Misato and Kaji meeting each other again, and how Shinji and Asuka interact in the beginning before the second half.

The show has some odd moments and the fact that Shinji pilots robots and has a cast of females around him and is still down can be twisted for fun but people really do take the second half when everything goes downhill too close to the heart (even me though I was under depression at the time so it affected me a bit more)

It's the fact that if you incite the Eva fans, you get reactions that can span entire forums and consume it in a war on merits, problems, ideology and so on. As TvTropes said "try to find something that Eva fans DON'T fight over"

My motto with regards to the series has always been thus: "If you needed therapy, you won't after watching the last two episodes of Evangelion. If you didn't need therapy, you most certainly will after watching the last two episodes of Evangelion." :3
