If it's anything like Begins or Knight, I really couldn't care, if it's utter trollop, FUCK YOU CHRIS AND YOUR HEARTLESS MURDERING OF BATMAN!

But, I doubt this will be a deal-breaker.

The thing I wonder about Anne Hathaway is I wonder if she can pull off Catwoman's femme fatale persona. Sexy and could fuck you up any moment she felt like it.

The costume looks pretty minimalist though, I don't expect her to don her cat-eared hat or claws or anything similar, this is the Nolanverse. I'd be surprised if anyone actually addresses her as Catwoman, other than maybe in a newspaper headline or something.

I thought Heath Ledger was a weird choice for the Joker and he was fucking awesome. So I'll withhold judgement.

She does look like my stereotype of the cat burglar, a tight black outfit with a touch of advanced tech. Doesn't matter anyway since 90% of Catwoman's ability just stems from incredible agility, which is fairly possible.

Nothing about her costume seems to indicate that she is a cat-like woman, though.

Then again, the new Batman movies have sucked in regards to costume design since Batman Begins, so I wouldn't have expected that to change now.
Actually, thats one of the best things about the movies. People aren't just wearing spandex and capes for the heck of it. It portrays characters in as realistic a state as possible.

So batman's costume is armor with a fire-proof glider cape.

Joker was a solo mobster in a suit (is that an oxymoron?)

The scarecrow is a psychotic psychiatrist.

Liam Neeson is a ninja ('nuff said).

Two face is a politician (so naturally he is two faced!)

And cat woman is just supposed to be a cat burglar (who probably also likes cats).
Well no, actually.

Batman looks like robo-Batman with a flimsy black nylon cap. I want my superheroes to look the part, not look the way they would if it was the real world. It's not the real world, it's a superhero universe.

And I dislike the Nolan Batman movies for this simple reason: It's trying it's best to not be a superhero movie in almost every way possible.
Well considering Batman is the only superhero with NO superpowers whatsoever, going for a realistic approach (where he relies on technology and human psych) is the most reasonable option.

Having him wearing skin tights and going around falcon punching people to the end of the block is not really gonna work out.

But hey, there was always Adam West's batman, who was trying his best to be a superhero when it was painfully obvious that he wasn't. (of course that is what made it so much fun though)

So far I've only seen official announcements list her as Selina Kyle, not Catwoman, so let's hope it stays that way so we don't end up with Danny DeVito with a bloody penguin nose again.

*shudder*

Its a realist approach, remember. And she's a thief who's agile, i.e. a cat burglar.
Well, the problem there was they had to give the Penguin somekind of superfluous mutant origin, instead of letting him just be a dapper mobster.

But atleast this time we'll have an interesting female character and love interest in these movies. Though Nolan has never been a real ace in depicting romantic relationships.

In all honesty it's Tom Hardy that's going to be the real draw for me.

So. Maybe the "Dark Knight RISES" porn jokes were more appropriate than we thought.

I agree that Hathaway was probably a poor choice, but then again we thought Ledger was going to suck as the Joker, so...

I'll give it a shot, but my money is on the series having jumped the shark.

That's actually the reason I love the Dark Knight more. I feel like they set out to actually make a great movie before going "Hey guys what crazy and cool Batman stuff can we put in?"

Catwoman is supposed to be 'girly'. And why would her hair be impractical, its tied up in a pony tail. Doesn't seem to be anything wrong with this character choice.

What I don't get is how the hell are goggles supposed to keep your identity a secret?
Any form of long hair is impractical in a fight.

That said, for the movie I see nothing wrong with this.

This is a total over reaction Anne just bought a new bike and the papz are all over her, for shame!
Oh come on, like she didn't buy the bike and those hipster sunglasses for the attention anyway. How many millions of dollars do you think those set her back? And that's just the glasses.

The real problem I have with it is that you just can't tell that there's a strong fighter underneath it all. And with a superhero you kinda wanna see the physical prowess and muscles bulging.

It's like watching a Bruce Lee movie where Bruce wears a turtleneck in every fight scene.

That's why I think the Arkham Aslylum Batman strikes the perfect balance. You can plainly see that it's not a simple body suit, but that there's padding and a real tech behind it. At the same time you can immediately tell that even without the suit Batman is one ripped ************.

This is how the Catwoman will look in the movie. I don't really mind it much, but the hair looks like it wouldn't be practical. And I hate the fact that they chose Anne for the role, she's just too "girly" for it. What do you think about it and the movie in general?
and heath ledger was too prissy to play the jok- oh wait.......he was batshit insanely terrifying.

yeah i stopped questioning the Nolan brothers casting choice a long time ago.
what i want to know is, what the hell she did in the movie to steal batman's batpod?!
thats pretty badass!!!

I think I'm going to judge the film on the whole based on one frame.
This should be everyone else's reaction. How do you know that's even the costume, you can't see anything below her chest in that shot, she doesn't have her mask on (which will likely keep her hair inside the suit), and her seeming too "girly" just serves for a better surprise when she starts kicking ass in the film.

Anne Hathaway does look pretty "girly," but she's a good actress, which is more than I can say for other female protagonists in Nolan's series.

The outfit looks alright. I'm glad it's not some retarded black spandex.

I'll reserve judgement until I see the film.

After all, people were saying Daniel Craig would be the worst James Bond ever and public opinion changed swiftly when they saw him in it.

I'll just say she has big shoes to fill though, since she her performance will inevitably be compared to Michelle Pfieffer's catwoman.

Or she gets a free ride, when people compare it with Halle Berry in Pitof's Catwoman.....

Well I guess that's sorta the point. Considering say Spider Man can be made into a badass hero because he has more casual appeal with not looking or sounding completely ridiculous, but say Batman, he's a guy in his 30's and 40's who runs around at night with a cap and tights beating people up. I mean if he actually had bat powers that would be cool. The worst IMO is Captain America, even his name sounds ridiculous and he doesn't have any super powers Superman didn't already have as far as I can tell.

Basiclly it's doing more to appeal to the average person, if you're a more older fan I guess you won't like it.
