The Dark Mod: Total Conversion for Doom 3

It's a conversion of Doom 3 into a Thief inspired Mod. Has anyone here tried it yet? I know Yahtzee is a fan of the Thief series, and this mod looks to have captured the look and feel of it quite well.

I haven't downloaded it yet, but I plan to. Just wanted to hear if anyone had tried it, and if so what did you think of it?

That's a hell of a first post, never played Doom 3 myself, but it might be worth picking up just for this mod.

What do you mean by 'blank'? I'm assuming you're referring to the ever changing introduction posts that some of us more regular posters often use to welcome new members...? We like to change them every now and then (or at least, I do), to make sure that they don't end up overused and stale. I happen to quite like them, thank you very much

It's everything Thief 3 should have been, in a way.

It was not even finished when I played it, but it's promising.

my dated laptop had a hard time loading even a small mission, and it lagged; but with a decent PC you should have no problem.

You may have to learn how to use the editor if you want more, since 100% of the content got to be made by fans...

Also you should go on the TTLG forum.
The crowd here mostly has a hard time understanding the concept of a game where you just sneak around enemies from start to finish.
That or they think it's not fun, to each his own...

Tried it, and it's damned sweet. incal11, you're absolutely right that it's everything Thief 3 should have been. I can see it's still a bit rough around the edges, but I read that they're working on an update already, so I expect they'll keep improving it.

As for my post being advertising in disguise, no. I just thought I would ask here since yahtzee is a fan of the series, and I figured anyone who watched his videos would at least be familiar with Thief.

Now to go and test out the editor.

Funny how my favorite stealth game in years is actually a fan made mod for Doom 3 of all games. Who'd have seen that coming?
