After having played it a bit at a friends house, I can say only 3 things.

The game isn't as hard as people make it to be. (and if you've played MH for as long as I have, this game is rather easy, but still harder than most games made in recent gaming history)
The game is decent. (would be good, maybe even great if it wasn't for the next point)
The camera is the worst things in human history. (this is a deal breaker for me. I can't play games with bad camera controls)

Seriously, what the hell have the guys at From Software been smoking during development?

And you of course have your right to not buy a straight port if it doesn't appeal to you but insulting a fair developer just because its not had a extensive upgrade over one version of the game, seems petulant to me.

And speaks of a mindset that doesn't care for the design principles the developers put into the game in the first place.

And if this is the case because I may be horribly wrong, why bother with the game?
A developer is free to do a half-assed job of any product, for any reason.

Customers are free to buy or not buy said product based on their perception of its quality.

Customers are also free to draw what conclusions they will about the motives and/or competence of the developers.

All of that is fair game. If you want a reputation for doing a good job, do a good job. It's really that simple. If I'm baking a cake, and I warn you ahead of time it's likely going to be shit, and it turns out shit, I don't then merit a reputation as a baker of excellent cakes just because I'm a good dude and I gave you a heads up. Most particularly if I then try to charge you extra for my cake.
Everything you say makes me love you more. You also seem to be able to deliver my points better than I can/could last time this thread was here. People are infuriating.

what about the controls sir, hows the port handle, that's what i wanna know
It's madness!

I wonder how the controls work, as well.
On keyboard and mouse? Absolutely horrible. On a xbox controller? Good.

That should work just aswell, although I'm pretty sure the button prompts will still be Xbox buttons WHICH BY THE WAY CAN BE PRETTY CONFUSING FOR SOMEONE TRYING TO USE THE KEYBOARD

*weeps* I couldnt pick up the key in the first room of the game, because I didnt know the button on the keyboard for it, and I couldnt look it up, because I didnt know the key to bring up the menu. I had to ALT+F4 out of the game, and plug in my controller then make my character all over again.

THAT'S WHERE THAT FUCKING KEY IS?!

It does work perfectly, except for the Analog stick to control the Camera, its the one thing that doesn't work and its a complete gamebreaker. Any PS3 Computer users know how to solve this by the way?.

Changing the controls is a challenge in its own right, i think half the challenge in this apparently amazingly challenging game is just getting it to work smoothly

...so if you order a pie, and the cook warns you that it's going to taste like shit and you order it anyway, when you get it and take a bite and it tastes like shit, you're going to criticize the cook for it tasting like shit even though he warned you that that was what you were getting? What were you expecting? That it would magically stop being shit if you waited long enough? Because from my point of view, that's pretty much what's happening.
For some, it's not about the pie tasting like shit. It's more about the chef not even bothering to put it on a plate or give you a fork. Low res graphics with minimal settings is understandable, but not even bothering to change the button prompts from the xbox is just fucking lazy. Nothing is worse than a lazy console port with shit controls.

Those really are the only two options.
Yes, you merely presented them as X and Y options with no alternative. Big difference.

By the way, I wouldn't buy shit from a developer who uses the word "entitled" in this way. That is, by now, close to being the sign of a buffoon.
So is a false sense of self-entitlement, which seems to describe the entire "controversy" from PC gamers.

i heard not well, but i also heard Darksiders 2 looked kinda crappy, here to say, on my PC the 'texture issues' don't exist
Well, I can't talk. I'm still amazed the glorious PC master race would deign touch anything that was created by inferior console stock.

But what PC gamer would lower themselves to use a filthy console input?

>.>
Well I luckily own 2 wireless Xbox 360 controllers for which I later bought the wireless reciever so I could use it with my pc too.

Not even testicular cancer?
Well, I don't have experience with that, but I can say that I'd much rather play Saints Row 2 on PC than have cancer of anything.

It is massively disappointing though. If it worked well, it might be my favorite free roaming game, right up there with San Andreas.

This is where my loathing of Bandai-Namco has worked to my advantage.

As I have sworn to never give so much as a cent to Bandai-Namco since their shitfuckery with CD Projekt, that meant the second I found out who was publishing the game it was a non-purchase, thusly I have avoided this disappointment.

So, hooray for me or something...

me to actually, i had a PS3 and Demon's Souls before i jumped to PC only, that's why i want it, i think it was a case of jealousy :D due to devs not really caring about the PC much as they used to.

All I've been hearing from PC gamers about Dark souls is constant whining, "Boo hoo, it's 30 fps, it's unplayable!"

Seriously, some people just need to grow up. It's not some god damned conspiracy to sabotage PC gaming, and it sounds crazy if you think it is. It's just 30 fps, console players deal with it all the time, we don't gush tears of blood when something doesn't come in 60 fps.

This pisses me off to no end, I'm an actual Dark Souls fan, and these people balling their eyes out after From Software took the time to actually MAKE a port for them, after thousands of petitions saying "We want the game! We'll play it! WE PROMISE!" has the potential to ruin From Software's reputation and finances for the rest of us.

I seriously hope that, if this continues, the PC wont see another port for a Souls game again, I think all the crying has proven they just plain don't deserve it.
This. I mean fucking seriously. Console players have to do without a lot of titles that are either exclusive to PC or to other console platforms. That just the way it is.

From software said that they were no good at PC ports but decided to go for it anyway; then everyone in PCland decides to have a bitchfit at the quality of the graphics?

I have heard no comments as to the quality of the gameplay as of yet.

This just seems like a pile of immature whining to me.

Which, for a business, is a fucking stupid way to go about things.
Ya, fucking stupid enough I would agree.

But then if they didn't do the port they'd have to deal with backlash and negative PR anyway

So they were basically kinda fucked if they did and fucked if they didn't.

Point is they were doing this in good faith and because they were asked.

I'll give props to them on that anyway.

Yes, because demonstrating an interest in a game means you're in some sort of implicit contract to buy it and enjoy it.

Tell me, is Roger Ebert entitled when he slams a film he expressed an interest in, before he saw it? Based on your answer to that question, I can tell whether or not you're worth taking seriously or not.
