I'd like to start out by saying that this is NOT a "***** about Modern Warfare 2" thread (well it actually is, but not in the same way).
I'd also like to say that before you comment please, PLEASE read the ENTIRETY of the post.
Read the title to figure out what it's about.
I will go through each mode, and then each mode by subcategory.
WALL OF TEXT WARNING.
CAMPAIGN:
Overall, campaign isn't TOO bad. However, a couple things are just annoying as hell.
1) On Veteran the AI is stupid as fuck, both for enemies and allies. I was expecting that on Veteran the AI would be much harder than on Hardened, thus I would die more. Unfortunately, the latter was true. They were so much more stupid I died more.
2) Level design is based around the principle that you will die. It's trial and error. Trial and error tends not to make for a good shooter.
That's all I have to say about that.
SPEC OPS:
The same problem of stupid AI applies here also but level design is forgivable because it SHOULD be a trial and error thing. Do it a couple times, find out the best way to do it.
MULTIPLAYER:
The big daddy. The only way I have of describing it in less than a sentence is "A massive, confused, jumbled up writhing orgy of shit, suck and ass."
1) Assault rifles dominate every other class BY FAR.
1.a) They have NO sway, have very high accuracy and damage and in general make the other guns shit in comparison.
1.b) Did I mention no sway?
2) Other weapons are inferior to assault rifles BY FAR.
2.a) Sniper rifles. They have a ton of sway, even when prone. Also, you can't hit someone less than 10 feet away because for some reason if your not looking down the scope it has a tendency to shoot about 20 degrees off. Additionally, there seems to be some MAJOR, MAJOR hit detection issues with them (and a decent amount of other guns but I experience it more with snipers). A bipod attachment would also be nice (you can infer what bonuses that would have).
2.b) Sub-Machine guns would seem like a decent competitor but they unfortunately suffer from a lack of attachments (I'm looking at you, heartbeat sensor). The issues with these are pretty apparent but not as important.
2.c) Large machine guns really don't seem to do what they are supposed to. In real life they are meant for suppressing an area for extended periods of time. I've been killed one too many times by a guy darting right in the middle of my machine gun fire and shooting me. Fire rate is seems too slow.
2.d) Riot shield is fine but completely pointless. 50 caliber snipers should be able to punch through them though.
3) Shotguns. Those. Fucking. Shotguns.
3.a) I know the 1887's are getting patched so I won't bother discussing those.
3.b) Get rid of either Akimbo or FMJ for them. If you do that then increasing the range might not be out of the question.
4) Pistols suck.
4.a) No seriously. They suck.
4.b) The USP and M9 can stay where they are because I have no qualms with them. HOWEVER...
4.c) The .44 and the Desert Eagle. They are weaker than motherfuckers. In reality, both fire bullets that are VERY powerful. Just make them stronger and maybe add some more recoil and were cool. (If you've ever played CS then you might know why I think its weak).
4.d) ADD SOME DAMN SCOPE ATTACHMENTS.
5) Knifing.
5.a) I would like to point out that I. HATE. KNIFING.
5.b) Make it slower. For gods sake, make it slower.
5.c) Get rid of commando. All it does is make it easier for those douchebags that run around and knife all the time.
6) The whole "I shot him 5 times then he killed/knifed me" deal.
6.a) If you are hit make it so that you flinch or lose accuracy.
6.b) If you are hit make it so that YOU CAN'T KNIFE. Have you ever tried stabbing someone with 3 bullets in your torso? It's not easy.
6.c) Both of those when you are in Last/Final stand. I swear to god. If that happens one more time...
7) Matchmaking
7.a) More specifically, how you get into a match, how it is setup and such.
7.b) Make it so you can choose what kind of game you want (e.g. "Look for games that: good connection, on X map, has X rules, etc").
7.c) Balance the teams out. Isn't it annoying going up against a team of seven 10th prestiged players and your playing with a bunch of 10 year olds? This happens to much.
8) The maps.
8.a) The maps that are good: Afghan, Derail, Skidrow, Invasion, Terminal, Sub Base, Wasteland, Underpass. Why? Sure you can camp, sure you can run around and knife, but at least they are avoidable. Oh, and the spawns don't suck too much (see #9).
8.b) Maps that are bad: Estate, Favela, Highrise, Karachi, Rust, Scrapyard. They are either too small, have horrible choke points, are too campy, too linear or otherwise encourages "asshole" tactics (you know what I mean). Oh, and spawns suck.
8.c) Maps that are neither good or bad: Quarry, Rundown. These maps ARE campy, they DO allow you to run around and knife, but the spawns don't suck.
9) Spawns.
I think we all know what's wrong with these so I won't go into deep detail. But in a nutshell: Spawn far away from where died. This will prevent so many frustrating deaths.
10) Kill/Deathstreaks
10.a) Get rid of air strike that comes with Harrier. It just makes a powerful killstreak even more powerful.
10.b) Get rid of care packages (or at least make the best you can get a pave low.) Do not reward players so well for getting only 4 kills.
10.c) Get rid of death streaks. Completely. They are pointless and only serve to wipe the asses of players who suck.
Uh...
That's about all I have off the top of my head.
So do you agree, disagree, think I should stop bitching because I suck at the game, have more things that must be fixed, etc.
