I have got to go to the dentist in about 2hours to get a filling, I do not know if this is a deep filling or just a little filling but i'm still nervous. The one place I don't want to feel pain is on my teeth. I don't know what has gave me this slight fear of the dentist.

So my question to you is... Do you fear going to the dentist? Has anything bad happend to you whilst you were at the dentist?

Oooh... one for me.

Ever had a gum shield fitted? A huge wad of this clay-like stuff was bunged in my mouth, and pressed up so that it moulds to the teeth. Unfortunatly, the thing was so big it was just about in my throat.

You can probably guess what happened next.

I dont fear going to the dentist.

Being born with crap teeth has educated me in the ways of the dentist

Also you should include the orthodontist in the question.

I've had some serious teeth issues but I was never afraid to go to the dentist. I just use some breathing techniques and try not to make too much of a deal of it.

Well, I went to the dentist, and after she had decided the I was never going to relax my muscle enough for her to shove the needle in, and had given up, I fainted...

That was embarrassing. So they decided that they had to knock me out instead. Which was good I suppose.

Yeah, I've had that done. Was quite troublesome because my mouth is pretty damn small. I can still remember the taste of that stuff... *cringe*

Who's afraid of the dentist? Jesus Christ people, it's just a little bit of pain.

Anyway, there was this one time I went to the dentist to get a filling and he didn't wait long enough for the pain killers to take effect, so when he started drilling into my tooth it really fucking hurt, but did I start screaming like a little girl? No, I sat down and took the pain, like a man.

I don't fear it, but i don't look forward to it. I have very shitty teeth and so I know work will always have to be done. I can't remember the last time I went to the dentist and it was not an exruciating experience. But I guess when you expect it, you don't worry as much.

Nope, my dentist is a nice lady who went to uni with my parents. That she's a good dentist doesn't hurt either.
She's not too kind abuot my teeth though, it's not that they're bad as such. I've just chipped them a lot living life, she hates chipped teeth. Other than that they're great...

Did your shield come out with a blow hole in the middle?

You went to the dentist to fit a gumshield?

You can do that at home with some hot water... xD

I used to not mind going to the dentist much, except for the sounds, but recently, he's relegated most orthodontic work and miscellaneous simple procedures to an intern that talks to me about owning guns in a creepy voice.

(And yes, my dentist is one of those rare ones that handles orthodoncit work and standard dentistry in one office.)

To say the least he is no longer on my Christmas card list and I am no longer allowed to be within 50 yards of him.

I'm not a fan of going to the dentist. It's not pain in my teeth, really. I dislike the needles they shove into the sides of my mouth and the subsequent numbness. I usually feel like the needle is going to poke to the outside of my cheek because of the pressure they put on it.

Since my dentist is young and knows whats shes sees and does I don't experience any pain when going to the dentist except jaw pain for keeping my mouth open for so long.

dont fear the reaper dentist. Its not that bad. Ive only had to get teeth take out but that was back when I had braces. They gave me some laughing gas and I woke up like a half hour later. It hurts in the mouth for a little than stops. Although when they gave me laughing gas I thought I was having an alergic reaction or something. All of a sudden ime just ling their in la la land. Funyy story when I try to describe it.
