Yesterday, I accidentally ended up breaking my cycling record. Over 33 miles, on a gravely country road, on my 12 years old bike, in 4 hours, that couldn't squeeze off more than 15 mph even if I pushed the pedals most vigorously on the last gear, during a very cold windy day, and the reason why, is that my friend told me there's that windmill on the outskirts of our town, that we should check out, cuz I like to climb various old landmarks, so, we drove for 2 hours, in the middle of nowhere, without a clue, on the distance so far, then he told me, that we drove 16 miles, and my jaw dropped, it's like, I've never rode this long of a distance on a bike, let alone, I haven't ridden my bike for half a year now, so this was quite an accomplishment for me... Either way, there was the way back, thru sweat and numbness in my feet, we finally got home, then I checked on google maps, it was ~33 miles (53km) worth of a journey, I felt on top of the world...

SO, tell me, whats your greatest accomplishment, regarding a distance traveled by any non-motorized vehicle or by foot and any other conditions?

Well, it's not my greatest accomplishment by any means, but I once walked form one end of my city to the other to watch Anchorman, which I hated, then walked all the way back. 6 hours of walking for an hour and a half movie. Never doing that again.

Though I do still occasionally walk home from the theater. There's no bus out there after the late show-times. I just never walk there anymore.

When I was enrolled we ran/walked about 120 km over the course of a weekend, as the last "test" before our 4-month period was over. That's hard with a backpack weighing 25kg and big army boots. My feet have never been the same since!

Respect for being able to do that, but dude, get a car.

My story is actually somewhat similar though. I went to visit a friend of mine who lived in Florida, and we said "lets take a moonlit walk across town", so we did. And it was marvelous. It was about five hours worth, non stop, just catching up on the past year since he had moved away.

I'm sure I've walked/ran/biked (know for a fact I've biked) further, but none of them really meant more than that night.

I cycled 21 miles with a friend, I was ready to turn back after the first five, but he pushed me to do the full distance of the cycle path, it was a pretty good feeling afterwards,
