Yeeeeah, the part where you give them an energy bar and they take off their shirt is kinda creepy.
I am more creeped out by the people that gets a can of soda and drops a military grade sniper rifle at your feet. Where'd they keep that and why would they just drop it on the ground?
Where they're keeping it is precisely why they don't want to touch it.
Probably also why the animations are so stiff.

To be honest, the beta was fun for me. It didn't have to be absolutely spectacular, it just had to be fun enough and it was. I could easily buy this and play it off and on whenever I feel like it. Few games make me feel like that. I'm not saying its the best thing since sliced bread, its not. But its good enough for a buy from me and that works.
This is pretty fun to play with friends, but unless you want to DZ it up, it's kind of lacking.
Random baddies do respawn, but encounters do not seem to. Also, the random baddies don't seem to be random in the sense of where they'll show up as much as whether or not they'll be here this time. There's a thing of tools near the post office, so it's easy to remember this specific one, and a group of guys spawn right around the corner. It was shocking the first time, because I'd farmed those tools like ten times. Now I check for them first and deal with them if necessary.
You can replay missions like in the beta, but I can imagine this getting tiresome with time.
The problem is, this leaves a largely empty open world. Once you've dealt with the encounters in an area, all there is to do is gather resources (which do respawn) and watch out for the looters and rioters. And with the way the DZ is sequestered, I can't even play with some of my friends right now, which definitely makes it a no-no, but I'm not much on the PVPing anyway.
I mean, they advertised the DZ as the place to get the best loot, not the only part of the game worth replaying.
