So today I dodged the proverbial bullet.

I graduated in July and have been searching hopelessly for a job for a month now. So much to my surprise I receive an interview yesterday for an entry level sales/marketing role.

Great I thought! So off I go an prepare for the interview by researching the company. Turns out they don't have a website, but they do have another company registered at the same address.

Further digging and I find out that the job is some sort of slave driving door to door sales, solely based on commission and no basic pay. The company has been changing its name for the past year and there are at least four that I know of. There are other websites where people share their horror stories.

For the record the company is known as JTG Consulting Limited, AKA UNIK, AKA London Marketing Services, AKA EA Marketing (if I remember)

So, what are your job bullet dodging experiences?

Working at a go-kart establishment. I worked there for 3 years, 4th year a vetoed it in favor of another, less well paying job. that year, 2 emplpoyess were sent to the hospital, and the company was sued like crazy by angry moms to the point of shutting down.
Also, related. Today I have an interview for a job. wish me luck!

Hope you land it, Lullabye.

Me personally, I worked for free for three weeks at a retail store (kinda like Target), but the boss didn't like me a whole lot (for various reasons (no, I didn't do anything lewd), but too inappropriate for me to keep working there) so he asked me if I wouldn't mind leaving the store.

Turns out that said boss is a douche. So I dodged the bullet out of a bad working environment, but bit the bullet with not getting paid.
