There's actually a story about one of the programmers giving the music writer a bunch of metal CDs and saying: "Make it sound like this." There's a site with a bunch of similarities, but I'm too lazy to find it right now.

Really? hmmmm Interested to see it.

There are a lot of things that sound like other things but I think this is one example that's pretty indeniably the same. A lot of the music in Doom does sound like metal songs I know, the track on Level 1 is very like a Slayer song, can't think which one...
