On my third 360, and it's worked fine for about 2 and a half years now. I'm planning on getting the slim at some point though, whenever I can be bothered to.

My current 360 has also spent the last 4 months attached to my PS3 slim with liberally applied Velcro. Together they make quite the abomination. They even share the same HDMI cable.

I don't even need to say it: -Imagine PS3 Fanboyism Here-

Why oh why do you keep buying more?
There's a good reason.

I happily pay my Live subscription, I'm on my 3rd box, all bought new, and I play it almost nightly, while my PS3 gathers dust.

It's the... *cringe* community... That keeps me going. Sure, it's full of fucktards, but the level of communication between you and your friends is so much better. I turn on my 360 to see who's online, join a party with about 6-7 friends, all doing their own thing.

I only ever buy exclusives on the PS3, not because of how the 360 plays, but due to how well connected it leaves me.

Last week my 4th Xbox Red ringed on me.

I bought a 250gig 360 S... The only reason I bought this one was I had the cash to spare (was going to buy a Wii) and with over 34 360 games...
HOLY CRAP THAT'S A LOT OF GAMES!!! :O

...oh, right...
OH MY!...

oh, I just got it too, I was genuinely confused for a second :)

OT: My xbox has never broken and I have had it for 4 years I think.

Having worked for Microsoft at one point in my life, I'm sad to say that this is the third most common complaint I used to get (the first two being the red ring and disc scratching).

I don't work with them anymore, which was a shame since I'd just learned how to use admin privileges to add MS Points to my account.

One of the 360s in the office red ringed once during a game of Halo. Multiplayer match, local LAN. I threw a plasma grenade, it exploded and the console froze. We restarted, and lo and behold, red rings. Damn thing was bricked, and since then, it has been considered bad luck to use plasma grenades during multiplayer Halo matches in the office.

I've had 2 red ring on me now. The second one RRoD'd well outside of warranty but I rang Xbox support anyway, the man on the phone claimed I was still within warranty and it would be repaired free. Obviously I didnt argue, sent it off and got a brad new one with a letter explaining my old one was so badly broken it was beyond repair so they replaced it.
They extend the warranty out to three years for hardware failure.

I have had my xbox 360 for about nearly two years and today i switch on my xbox and got one red light (the E74 error as it is called). I hear it's just as bad as getting RROD (three red lights) which as you proberly know if you've had a 360 is a full hardware failure.

Im trying to do the towel trick now in a desperate attempt to fix the problem. I am hoping the machine will overheat fixing the soldering of the loose chips.

If it doesn't work however at least i have my PS3 to play on so its not all lost.

To add discussion to this topic have you ever had any errors or hardware faults with your 360?
I've gotten so many free 360's from Best Buy's two year replacement plan. The elite though . . . darn thing lasted 2 months out of Best Buy's plan, so I gotta do the Microsoft warranty repair. Boo.
