So, since you're reading this, I'm hoping you've already seen the movie The Drop (if not, seriously, go see it). Because of A: the spoilers, and B: I need a question answered and you won't be much help without having seen it.

So at the end, Tom Hardy reveals he was the one who killed the kid everyone's been talking about the whole movie (not really a surprise). However, he killed the kid because Cousin Marv wanted to take the entirety of the kid's lotto winnings (not just what Marv was owed), and the kid needed to die so people wouldn't know that he had offered to pay Marv back.

My question is though, does Marv know that Hardy was the one who killed him? Marv specifically mentions to Bob that Weems was the one who killed the kid in a place where Marv and Bob are alone. If Marv knows that Bob killed Richie, why tell him the lie? Or was this just a clever way to say "That's the guy who claims he killed Richie" without letting the audience in on it?

But then, Marv approaches Weems, telling Weems how nervous he made Bob and even sending him against Bob. But Marv knows Bob is a tough, that's why he tells Weems later not to fuck with Bob. Is it because he knows Bob killed Richie, or just that Bob's killed other people and he thinks Weems can match him? But even after all of that, Richie is killed so Marv can take his money, so it seems like something Marv would know about.

I'm starting to suspect I might have missed something.
