I've owned all three versions of the DS and had the same problem with each one. The shoulder buttons never last two months without having problems. I have rarely if ever dropped them and keep them in pretty good condition. I know people with the original that still works fine yet the L button on my new DSi doesn't work. Has anyone else had this problem? It's really starting to get on my nerves.

Never had any problems with my old one (until it was run over whilst open and the screen came mostly off. It still works, I just can't see anything on the top screen. No button problems, nothing like that.

I've had those types of problems with my Game Boy Advances, but not with my DS. I only dropped each of them twice, and they were messed up ever since. My first GBA's directional pad has a delay in input, and my GBA SP's L Button doesn't work at times, but no complications have emerged from my DS thus far.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
Ive been having some problems with the L button on my ds lite but its like 4 years old so that should be expected to some extent, it works but it takes a hard press

My original ds has bite marks via frustration, drink stains and sticky decals on it and it works fine for me

Nope, never seemed to have a problem with my red brick. It works just as well as when I got it three(?) years ago.

My first DS, the Right Trigger went out, after a year.
My DS Lite, the D-Pad messed up after about 9 months.
My DSi, My first one Right Trigger after 1 week, my second one the Right trigger gave me a little problem after a month but its fixed now.

My DS is freaking invincible. It's a really old one, so it's fading from age and abuse now, but it's been through so much. It's a very sturdy system, and the game library is simply incredible.

Eventually, the left shoulder button became wonky for me. That was after a year or two ,though.

I broke the shoulder buttons of my first original fat DS (it was the blue one at the time when they were rare). I was upset.

My current lite is still fine.

No problems here. Granted, I've not picked it up in about a year or two. That's irrelevant though, right? (DS light, by the way)

After a year or two of having my DS light the left shoulder button died, it's pretty irritating sometimes.
