So I've been playing TF 2 (Team Fortress 2) for a long time and I've seen some REALLY stupid servers. I'm bringing this up because I just got kicked out of the Ruca server because I was "shooting out of spawn" AT NOTHING!! Really! I was shooting at a wall and I got kicked.

What lame stupid ass servers have you been on?

PS: Don't get me started on people who have E rated servers on an M rated game (I'm looking at you eGo and The Fish)

Odd, I play on the Ruca TF2 server whenever the clans on, and they seem like a nice group, only really seen them be defensive when some guy started bitching out a bunch of people.


Anyway, The dumbest, in my opinion will always be the server's who, if you donate, will give you game breaking ability's such as regenerating ammo, massive running speed boost's, ability's to build extra senrty's, Healt Regen.

It doesen't sound bad, But I was in a game where two donor's just camped the enemy spawn with eight sentrys.

It wasen't very fun for either team.

All of which are very well run and have no stupid rules.

I like the Fish. It's nice to be able to play Counter-Strike without having people cuss you out. It is a bit silly to have a bunch of people killing each other, but the second someone swears it's a huge no-no. I was actually banned from one of those servers from saying "crap." Once.

There was a server I joined called, and this is no joke, "The 4chan Party Van!" So of course, when I try to get in it took about 10 minutes to download all the sound clips and nearly everything you type would have a soundclip to it. So about 4 people were mic spamming all at once while a bunch of sound clips were cutting each other off. It was one of those trippy funmaps on TF2 where you kicked giant billiards balls around a table. So it was insane.

You and I are the same on that. (Since I'm usually attempting to heal/hurt you every time.) The really Silly servers I have been to usually involve maps such as Orange_x3 and DM_Store.

One team is allowed snipers, one team isn't. Since it takes ten years to get into range for any class to hit the snipers - it usually means the snipers win. Best of all, if they make a minor push they get a huge tower which can see the entire map.

I have a question, what is the IP for the Escapist Server? Also why is it that my favourite server got deleted when the new Steam came out? And even now when I add servers to my fav list those also still get deleted

I hate the stupid benefit servers in every game.

For example, one of my most frequently visited TF2 servers has what is called a premium mod.

Basically if you pay the server hoster's website you get "premium powers" for a month.

It includes:

Running really fast regardless of class
Unlimited ammo
Most guns don't need reloading
Ability to build four of every building
Sappers do less damage on your buildings
Unlimited cloak
Can't take damage from rocket/sticky jumping or hitting the ground
You sticky/rocket jump REALLY high
Twenty bottles of Jarate
The worst, every time you get a kill you get +50hp, or a kill assist you get +25hp.

So it's unbalanced as FUCK.

And why do I keep dragging my ass there? Well many friends play there and it's always full.

They both have the IPs, the beta server has been taken down though, and usually it's just the UK one that gets populated.

It gets filled when someone decides they want a game and either posts an announcement over the steam group or shouts about it in the Escapist group.
We go off topic a hell of a lot on the Escapist group so you may want to set your notifications to off. Don't though, join in instead.

Oh, I know what you mean. I have played a similar server before at a friends... why did he take me there again?!

That reminds me of a server in Insurgency (a multiplayer Source mod). It had what was called a guns mod, which if you type !guns into the chat you can choose one of the five guns from your team and get them instantly.

Problem? The insurgents get the stuff you'd think - shotguns, AK-47s, AKs-74u, RPKs. Basically three automatic weapons and two semiautomatic weapons.

The US Marines however have all automatic weapons, the worst being the fact that you can get an M16 with an M203 grenade launcher attached, which along with the RPG-7 is an overpowered weapon. So basically anyone can get the Noobtube whenever they want, so if you're playing as the insurgents expect to be grenade spammed. And there's a whole lot of ammo crates around, so they have unlimited grenades.

Again, I still go there because it's always full. And thankfully there's usually an admin to boot the asses who spawncamprape.

If you live in Aus, Try The Red Room Revamped. (Why revamped? we changed GSPs. It'll get changed to just "The Red Room" once the old one goes down). The regulars are really good players and we all know each other well. The only thing bad is occasionally you get a whole of of regulars on one side, which is a bit unfair.

WoW, Moonrunner Server for the Horde. Tried it out once, it was terrible.
