I was wandering around and I saw this one post on one of this sites forums. I feel that I must ask of the escapist. What is the most depressingly/hilariously stupid thing you have ever seen posted on the internet? If your faith in humanity is still intact then please avoid the rest of this thread.

Oh god. I got to say the dumbest thing I've ever seen on this thread was when a new guy joined an RP a friend of mine started up and was already at 2000 posts (It was an Open RP with people able to jump in or out as long as they followed the set rules in the OP).

The guy was a huge god-modder and (It was a comedic RP) all of his jokes were taken from Unforgotten Realms....he even tried to use the "It's a Dragon." thing on us. It was just really bad and it got to the point where he became the only player we have had to kick out.

Since I've been on the internet since around 1996, I've seen a LOT of stupid things... probably the stupidest things I've seen in recent history was either the stanky legg or Soulja Boy's career as a whole. Short of that, I'd have to say those Fred videos that make pretty damn little sense in the comedic understanding. Why people attempt to milk a gimmick for years instead of trying to build on the success of such attention baffles me.
Short of performances, I'd say the next biggest stupid thing on the internet is people who sell food with images of religious figures on it... for a ridiculous amount of money. And people who outbid the first idiot to raise the amount to a monumentally stupid amount. As I recall, some dumb chick was selling her virginity on ebay to pay for her college tuition... of course, ebay shut down the auction after it garnered a good amount of publicity, but she had a high bid of $3.6 million from some brothel who took up her offer after ebay backed out of the auction. What ever happened to the stripper myth of dancing to Motley Crew songs to pay for school? Damn lazy kids with no rhythm.

Well I once joined a forum for Pokémon fanfiction and then derided the existence of Pokémon fanfiction.

That probably wasn't the smartest move possible.

Especially once you realize a lot of the Move names can be turned into sexual innuendos.
