Oh yeah and the bulging isn't that slight according to my geographer/geologist friend. Apparently the beaches in Ecuador are further away from the centre of the Earth than the peak of Everest. Could check it; not going to.
Satirical or not, there was a forum I found once that had people who genuinely believed it. The entire forum was for people who believed in a flat Earth. They were all people who hadn't been outside of their towns/villages and thought books were just the government's way of trying to brainwash you.

When you look at a ship coming over the horizon (hint) you will at first only see the crow's nest, then the sail, then finally the main hull of the ship. If the world was flat, then you would see all of the ship all the time, and not only that, but on a clear day you would be able to see the port they came from if it was in line of sight.
But you can't, hence the world is round.

Unfortunately, Most of us CAN believe people can be that stupid. And I for one am able to believe people are EVEN dumber than this. From whence comes much of this threads conflict. If we could have a little more faith in our fellow man this would be immediately recognized as the joke it is and be hilarious.
