I know it's a bit of a long shot, but has anyone read Malleus, Xenos and Hereticus?

Me and my dad are trying to work out a cast list for it, and are having a bit of trouble. We think the following-

Eisenhorn: Daniel Craig, intelligent looking and beefed up enough to look intimidating.
Fishchig: Jason Statham, thuggish military type with a heart of gold.
Midas Betancore: Don Cheadle, ace pilot and sometime drug user with a slight build.
Pontius Glaw: Stephen Fry, intelligent and malevolently charming.
Aemos: Ian Holm/Patrick Stewart.

any ideas? frankly we're stumped.

We also think that Michael Sheen, with a bit more bulk on him, would make a great Caiphas Caine

wow always regarded warhammer 40'000 universe sooo over the top that to try and put them into real human form would be almost impossible, but yeah you seem to be on the money with daniel craig playing eisenhorn. Dunno but I recon you could find room for russel crowe in there ,hes good doing dark violent types. Well good in romper stomper and la confidential.

YES I love those books, but I have to leave right now. I'll bookmark this thread and come back to it later tonight.

lol that took ages to come to. we even thought about trent reznor, seeing as we dont actually need an actor to play him. but craig seemed so much better.

I've read them and in my opinion I'd find it hard to cast anyone in any role, because no film could ever do the books justice.

Daniel Craig, really? I would have gone for that old dude from Lord of The Rings: Return of The King, beefed up maybe but he could work it. You need an actor who looks 50+ but at the same time could beat you to death with his chin. It's been a while since I read the series (I bought the omnibus, it was one of my first Wh40K books) but I remember thinking that guy seemed close to what Eisenhorn would be.

see while he is supposed to be a bit older than craig, you have to remember that hollywood won't go for an older lead in a "sci-fi action extravaganza" (which is what they'll class it as).
Craig's perfect in my mind because he can satisfy the needs of the audience and the needs of the producers.

IMO the Eisenhorn series is the best series in the Black Library.

If you want someone a little older how about Liam Neeson as Eisenhorn? He's a little older, has class and can kick the crap out of you. Plus he's a little burlier then Daniel Craig.

I think the falling point of trying to put 40k onto the big screen would be as soon as the first space marine appears, I just don't think they'd be able to portray them well.

I know that this is fairly pointless considering the thread is 'who would work in this roll' rather then 'if there was a film I'd want it to have these people', but if this was created then the less known actors in it the better.

the good news is that there actually aren't many astartes in eisenhorn... in fact theres only one, if you don't count the chaos ones.

I think they could work something out, even if they CGI it like Xerxes in 300. I think the hardest part Eisenhorn conveying emotion through a character without facial movement.

lol they might have to tone down the costume a bit. The actor might choke himself with his own costume during the action scenes.

Yeah i can totally see Daniel Craig playing him. not classically handsome, hes charismatic and can brood with the best of them.

Why Daniel Craig? :(
how about someone better... like... ummm...
Actually, I don't know anyone for the role... but just not Craig... he just wouldn't fit into the grittiness... or would he?

This also means I have read the books. I bought the omnibus.

well in fairness eisenhorn is a fascist james bond in space, it really depends on whether you liked casino royale i guess.

and yeah read the books, they're really good.
