Links to the first DLC news for Skyrim it seems!
Anyone want to theorize as to what it could mean?

Or that it says that its "coming to Xbox360 this summer"?
So what Xbox360 exclusive? Or just its coming this summer for 360 and later for the PS3/PC?

Anywho looks interesting.

Timed exclusive.

I'll hunt out the sites on it later but basically the 360 gets it a few months before PS3 and PC.

That was Microsofts deal with them.

Edit - I lied, it's not a few months it's 30 days.

Dawnguard = Mythic Dawn?

Mythic Dawn = Something demonish

Something demonish = Something daedric?

Something daedric = Something Oblivionish?

Something Oblivionish = Something red?

*end thinking to myself*

I'm going to go with something daedric, Oblivionish, and involving the Mythic Dawn as my best guess.
A far better question would be...
Why the hell is he still in Iron Armour.
I mean seriously?
At least upgrade to steel, it's not that hard to find!
Sheesh, talk about a la-...
What do you mean over-thinking it..

The Mythic Dawn, as you learn from doing the Mehrune's Razor quest, is utterly destroyed with it's most sacred texts now sitting in a display case in some random jackass' house......or more specicaly sitting on a bookcase in my house in Solitude.

So to answer this question and the line of thinking above, it's most likely going to involve Vampires.

It personally reminds me of Dawnbreaker, the anti-undead Daedric sword.

Timed exclusive for Xbox? What bullshit, what gives them to the right to have it first?

Bethesda = a corporation
corporation = goals are to make money
Microsoft = a corporation
corporation = goals are to make money
Microsoft pays Bethesda money to put DLC on Xbox first so Microsoft makes more money and Bethesda gets that Microsoft cash

That is why.

How will Microsoft make more money from it?

PC Gamers who also have an Xbox and Skyrim aren't going to purchase the DLC and play on the inferior version of the game.

And PS3 gamers who also have an Xbox, would probably be playing Skyrim on the Xbox anyway.

Because most pc players dont have the "eliteism" to think that the 360 version is inferior and will gladly buy the 360 version and its DLC just to get it sooner.

Most PC players I know KNOW that the PC version is better, and they're not gonna spend £30 on a copy of Skyrim plus however much the DLC costs.

Over £30 for an unmoddable copy of the game with worse graphics? No thanks. It won't get Microsoft much money.

Smart of them to give him glowing eyes so I can speculate for a few months. It'll keep me up nights. Oh Bethesda, you're incorrigible.

Dawnguard, sounds like something to do with vampires given the recent files found in the latest patch. Maybe The Dawnguard is a clan of vampires/vampire hunters.

Ah, I missed that part. I must have had "Didn't pay attention to the lore, paid attention to finishing the quest quickly" syndrome.

...It was very late, and I was falling asleep!
:p Well it's what, 200 years after the events of Oblivion? The Mythic Dawn's sole purpose was to go around opening Oblivion Gates to aid their master: Mehrune's Dagon, in entering the world of mortals and basically making hell on earth.

When the new emperor sacrifices himself to become an avatar of Akatosh, it renews the seal that prevents Daedra from entering the mortal realm and also made it quite impenetrable. As such, a massive Daedric invasion as seen in Oblivion can no longer happen.

Edit: Damn you spoiler box and your inability to comprehend contractions and possession! :mad:

my theory it has to do with someing in dawnstar

posably vampires or mythic dawn

some ideas
the dark brotherhood after you take control and more importantly a certain young vampire named Babette perhaps some new vampire themed quest line with her?

dawnstar also contains mythic dawn artifacts in one nut jobs home perhaps somthing to do with them?

In all likely hood the DLC will work like Oblivion, Fallout 3, and Fallout: New vegas's i.e. unrelated to any quest or person currently in the game.
