Well, gameplay wise, alot. But most of it has been said.

So, plot-wise. Akavir. We've heard so much of it, it's caused many discussions in the Lore circles (I consider myself a bit of a TES lore buff). And this seems the PERFECT time for them. No Emperor, Tamriel in chaos and possible anarchy, ravished by the Daedra. I think it's time the Akaviri showed up and tried to invade again. It would introduce a whole new aspect to the beastiary with the vampire snake-men and whatever horrors they might bring along, to say nothing of Akaviri weapons and armor beyond the katana. You could introduce something that felt truly alien like the island of Vvardenfell did, and it would open the door for true epicness. Imagine if they improved the combat and set up a scene or two in the main quest with large battles between the forces of Tamriel and Akavir. Or if you don't want to chronicle the actual war, let us out of whatever prison we're in now after the war is lost and have us try to overthrow the new Potentate. Whatever the case, this setting is rife with new things for the series, from new creatures and equipment to foreign Akaviri magics being put into the Tamrielic spellweaving society.

I would really like if the added some modability to the console version. I finally got a PC that could run Oblivion and I am running over 200 mods. I think it would be fairly easy. Have download from the Xbox LIVE Market or PSN and then have another available on the internet for the PC. Then you link them together like Xbox 360's can link to Windows Media Center. Then just have a program that ports PC mods into xbox mods which you apply through the PC program.

I'd also like some more intense combat, stabbing rather than just swinging the whole time. And horse combat with special pros and cons and enemies also engage in horse combat (from horses) also a few mounted only weapons couldn't hurt.

Another thing is that journal thing they have. I think they could make it more immersive. I've always been fond of the idea of having to map the areas manually and such, allowing for custom makers and notes. Also it'd be a lot better than walking to the place and back to the road for a fast travel point. And I think they should add more hotkeying options so you don't have to enter the inventory so often. Something like the order and taunt menus in Unreal Tournament 3.

And the there's the fact the world felt so small. They should add travel services from Morrowwind (never played it though) and if the keep fast travel have some random events like finding a cave or encountering a monster.

I could go on forever. So I'll just go point form for the rest.

-addictions to skooma
-making enchanted weapons and armour/higher level armour rarer (way rarer).
-gold having more value. Actually having to work for it.
-skills like hunting for leather and bones (AxeBanes Hunter mod basically) to make armour.
-fishing.
-more acrobatics skills like climbing.
-more npcs
-wider variety of weapons and enemies
-no more telepathic gaurds and bounties city specific
-more variety in enviroments.

Ok so I definatly should just my own game lol.

Oh i forgot...

mounted combat would be killer

duel wielding weapons

make the the night vision black and white or something the blue was annoying

the green light was also annoying

make potions or heals a bigger part of the game, disliked the idea of waiting or spamming heals after every battle saving my overly priced potions that I didn't come by enough. (though it allowed for a lot of auto saves that helped when I)

Hired allies? I filled this hole by doing escort mission with invincible allies, but not finishing the mission but bring them along on other missions

Do the side quests to get all the guards from the other cities and you don't need to do crap until you're in the gate.

Also, I know this sounds broken, but infinite pots from store traders. I don't feel like going to every town in the game to get 50 minor potions. Atleast give them more potions.
make it so so with enough money you could get anything fast Instead of getting the money to pay for something secondary to finding someone who has it. I got a penalty that kicked me out of the mages guild and I needed 20 redwart flowers to get back in, they take a month to respawn after you picked all you can find and the most any trader has is 2 and they cost 5 gold each. I would've payed 500 gold each if I could get them all at once. God forbid you'd be able to get back into the guild by....you know giving them money.

About the Generic english fantasy world thing. I don't mind it. I'd rather have it than fighting "Weirdass dogs and flying jellyfish"
Now, the biggest thing for me, is why is every fort in the entire providence in ruin? don't you think some of them would still be occupied by the legion or something?

More respawning followers

More weapon and armor varieties.

Better armor more rare

More alternative ending quests than you finish it or the character dies

I have an unconfirmed report that Bethesda are trademarking the rights to the name 'Skyrim' Thus I have reason to believe that the next Elder Scrolls will take place in the North. I'll have to confirm with my sources so I'll try to keep you posted.
TES Travels: Dawnstar takes place in the province of Skyrim.

Wait a second...am I reading this right? CELLPHONES?!?!
Someone PLEASE correct me if I'm reading this wrong...its scaring me :s

Anyway, consistent accents would be nice....maybe a little depth or CHARACTER displayed in the NPC's. I understand that if you are just running into someone on the street they're not giving you their life story, but something more would be nice. Also, mounted combat would really help, dismounting because a wolf is nipping at my heels as I ride by got a bit annoying after a while. Varying the dungeons, a character generator that is a bit less unwieldy, and iron the combat system please!

PS. Personally, I think it would make sense for a lot of enemies to have Daedric armour/weapons seeing as how there are all these portals to Oblivion wherein reside the Daedra...but I can see how it takes away from the value of THE BEST ARMOUR IN THE GAME if everyone and their grandpa has three extra sets...

So, if you're a fan of the Elder Scrolls series, would get TES 5, and feel it would need some changes, what kinds of things would you want to see different in this game from the previous titles as far as gameplay and plot and anything else you can think off?
Pretty much everything from Oblivion. If they took Morrowind, and put Oblivions stealth system in, along with the ability to manipulate your items outside your inventory, and a hybrid between the Morrowind Archery and Oblivion, it would be the perfect game almost. I read a copy of the Pocket Guide To The Empire from the special addition from somewhere(That place being a store, where I bought it, of course. Seriously), and they seemed to be foreboding things to happen in all the proveniences. I would like more water, so to better use sailable ship and pirate plugins that people make.

My grandpa has 5 extra sets and god armour :)
Also, I do want godly armour that is hard to get. The closest thing oblivion has is umbra which is a weapon.

I'm sick of elf and people-lands. Set it in Black Marsh, where there are barely-literate lizard tribes and conscious, malevolent jungles. Be immersive and, if need be, unfair - you should be given the ability to be a Dark Elf as usual, and everyone should hate you because your people enslaved the native population. Swarms of flesh-eating insects that deform your face. I have a separate save in Morrowind specially for the corprus experience, because horrible degenerative zombie diseases scare the pants off me and they did a good enough job making you feel like a diseased monstrosity that I didn't even want it infecting my regular save.

I have 4 simple improvement suggestions.

(1) A wider variety of weapon types and grades like in Morrowind and the return of the more specific skills like axes, enchantment, and some new ones.
(2) TES5 needs to change the scenery a little, unlike many players I walked almost everywhere in Oblivion to have some extra fun and it was all just hills, trees, dead trees, and the occasional body of water. I'll admit in areas like the swamps in the southeast and the mountains in the north were different from the rest a little but they were all the same as the other parts of the same region too.
(3) Add a little humor. The whole time I was playing and questing I saw everything, horror from the zombies around corners in caves, action in fights, drama and tragedy from quests, but no comedy unless you count the voice acting and the countless glitches the game throws at you.
(4) More creative spells. At first it seemed there was a good amount of effects but it gets really old really quick, especially if you decide to make a mage.

Agreed Buzz.

Also, nudity. I want my reward for saving a town to involve vaginas and breasts instead of a ring I'll never use and can't enchant since it's already enchanted with the most useless property in the game.

Basically all the gameplay stuff that got changed from how it was in Morrowind needs to be changed back again.

If they add nudity it'll start another Hot Coffee Controversy and the game industry would take another major hit to it's reputation. Also, nudity wouldn't really work with the ability to chose the player's gender and that isn't much of a reward for quests unless you're desperately perverted. And call me gay or whatever you want but I believe nudity would ruin the game.

Why can't these soccer mom's leave the industry alone? Really, you should have the uncontested rights to put whatever you want in a game and all anyone should be able to do is put an AO rating on. Also, considering the uselessness of some of these quest rewards, I would trade in the "reward" for a minute of boobies anyday rather than keep the ring that's worth 50 gold and gives a sub par enchantment that you're never going to use. Also, picking breasts over a reward you're never going to use is not desperation. It can work.

It's not just the parents but that is a major deal. I don't think you realize what AO means socially and economically, it means major stores like Wal-Mart, Game-Stop, and everywhere except porn stores would refuse to sell it which means you could only buy it if you were 18 and from your mentality I severely you're anywhere close to that and countries like Australia would ban it completely. I'll admit that the rings they give are useless but I'd rather need to drop some useless junk than make the game next to impossible to find but this isn't really the place to debate things like this, let's stick to the topic. Feel free to message me if you want to talk about it more.

I would like to see better spell effects oblivion tried this with the fire spells enveloping the target in flames but when they fall over and i see there is not even a minor burn on the wolf I just roasted, make it so there is a charred corpse EVERY time, maybe frost could actually look like the target was frozen. Another thing was the fact I could shoot a deer in the leg with and iron arrow and a steel bow and see it die when I played a hunter but when I jacked up the difficulty I hit it then head and it ran away, I mean wtf?. also no matter how many times you slash at a citizen or whatever they have no cuts on them at all. They REALLY need to improve AI and they should make animals behave like animals and LOOK realistic, a wolf will not look the same as another and wolves dont hunt alone unless they were kicked out of a pack. Bears are more scared of you then you are of them. More voice actors and better beggars and citizens, they did try this by making them sleep and eat but some citizens stand in the street of the IC all day twiddling their thumbs. Rare armour should be rare, if you see bandits in an ayleid ruin and there is elven armour lying around they should be using it, merchants shouldnt scale with you they would sell you something regardless of level if you had the cash. Also bandit raids on towns would be welcome, also the possibility to be evil would be awesome, playing thieves feel like playing robin hood, the assassinations are always killing evil people or just some random guy who made someone mad by stealing their morning bagel.

I think the most important thing would be different kinds of AI.

Animal-something that will avoid you and only fight back if cornered.

Rabid Animal-will attack ferociously with no regard for it's own life. ((this is to keep people from getting too comfortable around the animals))

Basic Monster-Will actually sneak up on you. Attacks on sight but will run if you are out of it's class. Basically a lesser malicious intelligence.

Advanced Monster-Will command lesser monsters, use tactics, flanking, exploit cover, ranged weaponry, terrain and otherwise be a huge pain in the ass.

Civilian- Will run away if attacked and summon the guards. Instead of death charging you and then the guards automatically knowing you killd someone. So if you kill someone before they can alert the guards you don't get in trouble unless someone sees you with the body or something.

Guard- Will patrol, enforce the law and suchlike. Most importantly, if you take something by accident they will ask you to turn it over. And if you do you don't have to pay a fine or go to jail. I mean really. I took your jar. It was an accident please stop stabbing me.

I always hated the NPC tendency to berserker charge everyone. That seemed to be the limit of the AI. Allies are always throwing themselves into your attacks or jumping into lava pits or otherwise being a nuisance. Usually if I have to escort someone somewhere I tell them to stay put kill everything in my path and then come back for them.

Just though of something else they need. A new stealth skill. DISGUISE!!!

I've always thought that if you are wearing a featureless steel helm and go steal something, and then run away ditch the armor and whatever you stole and then walk calmly away the guards shouldn't realize it's you. I mean they could give real disguises like masks or something. But just the ability to get rid of a bounty by some other means than turning yourself in or paying the thieves guild to do it would be very welcome.

By the way, in Morrowind does anyone know how to actually pickpocket someone? I tried with a character with 100 stealth, and 135% constant effect chameleon. Still I could never successfully pickpocket anyone. Did they fix that in Oblivion? If not that is really something they need to fix.

That sounds pretty cool. Kind of like ditching cars in GTA4? Also, picking pockets is possible in Oblivion. I've stolen a guard's shoes before.
