I still play Morrowind. The world just keeps dragging me back, even if it is for just a few hours occasionally.

Never played it but I would love to.

Damn Microsoft and thier lack of backward compatibility.

Maybe we should petition to have it uploaded on the classics section on Live!
The much better GOTY edition works on the 360.

Umm. What about Elder Scrolls I and II?

Daggerfall and Arena if my memory is correct.

I dislike the game...Same for oblivion, but I suppose I like the latter a bit more.

The choices aren't great, the fighting animations suck... Well, the rest is okay, I guess.
People care way too much about the fighting and how 'bad' it is. Imagination does wonders.

I really loved Morrowind. I found it really hard to get into, but once I was it was bliss. Like a really hard eggshell with... I'm just going to stop that analogy there.
I have to agree with you. And dont stop I wanna know how it finishes.
Delicious candy insides that are hard to get at but great once you're there? I knew I wouldn't be able to finish up as well as I'd started.

House Hlaalu was awesome. I wish they'd had houses, or some Imperial equivalent, in Oblivion. All the in-fighting, sealed notes, protection rackets and backstabbing made for a really realistic political experience.

In my opinion, it was good stuff. I think Oblivion is better, but Morrowind is still great.

ES3 was better than 4
there was so much more to do, more guilds, more quests and im sure the map was bigger. The combat may be one of worst ive ever seen and the stilt strider things still creep me out but it was better than Oblivion.
i liked those things but also oblivion didnt have the mystery that morrowind did because you had things like ghost fence the gods dwemer(sp?) and deadra(another sp?) ruins

i like them both the same but oblivion takes the cake in combat morrowind has aweful combat

I couldn't get into Morrowind, something didn't suck me in like in Oblivion. And I don't mean graphics, but maybe the controls and the feel of old game.
It is hard to get into since my first character could shoot a fireball and point blank and miss a mudcrab (same for the bow and arrow XD) and I am glad they just use your stats to determine how much damage you do instead of determining if you hit. Overall I liked Morrowind better than Oblivion.
OT: I love your avatar.

I am one of those elder scrolls fans that likes Oblivion a lot more that Morrowind but that does not mean Morrowind was bad in any sense of the word. I use to play the hell out of that game on my xbox and my PC. One of the best RPG experiences ever until Oblivion came and topped it. I for one still have it installed on my computer and revisit it every once and awhile.

Nostalgia does weird things to people's minds sometimes. I've played both and really don't see the appeal over Oblivion. Yes it was a good game for its time, but then is not now and we all need to move on.

Would I play it all through again? Yes.

Do I believe that it deserves this level of devotion? No.

Morrowind is superior to Oblivion in all but graphics, physics and spellcasting. Although I curse the crappy havok engine for making it nearly impossible to lay items out in a house.

It was all the little things that made Morrowind great. Individual pieces of armour and the ability to wear clother under and robes over for the perfect mix and match. Loads of different candles and lamps to create your own homely ambience and more unique weapons, armours and items than you could wave a shitty stick at.

The one and only muffin, fishy sticks, the wet note, the pool of forgetfulness..........the list of interesting stuff goes on and on and on.
