Anyone interested in how this is looking?

I think personally, it's going to be a disaster on consoles which might make the PC experience a bit less complex. However it might get out of the WoW hotbar type thing if it's getting developed for controllers.

You?

It has been a small little speck on my radar for some time and it does look decent so I might end up giving it a go when I get myself a PS4 next year (current new rig needs more up to date parts so I'm not shuffling around for them anytime soon).

I also think it could be either a hit or miss with consoles but we'll have to wait and see because if it does go well with the consoles then everyone on them will have a good time while the PC only people will have a good time themselves even if they are a rather smug circle jerking lot.

I signed up for the beta a while ago and they keep sending me advertisements.

I really hope this game will do well on the consoles. Its a nice alternative for people who have no faith in their pc for being able to handle such a big game. Also, it would be interesting to see a MMO on a console that actually works.

I wasn't expecting it at all but its still a shame there is no cross platform play.

I thought it looked cool and I was planning on getting a gaming PC just for it, but then I realised I couldn't be arsed so forgot about it. When they announced it for consoles, I got interested again but it all comes down to the pricing. Subscription based, on top of the PS+ subscription, would be a dealbreaker for me.

If this is a "buy once" sorta deal like Guild Wars 2, consider me rather interested.

If it's a subscription however, I'll pass on it.

I signed up for the beta as well, if you didn't uncheck the box for the news letter they'll just keep sending you stuff. It was right above the "I agree to what they say check this box"

I love playing my MMO's but currently right now I'm more excited to see what they have done to change FF14 then what elder scroll is doing. I might pick it up later maybe when there is a price drop or reviews. But for now, I'll just keep playing my skyrim if I need a dash of some elder scroll in my life.

I think it will do well.

Mostly because it's keeping enough "normal" Elder Scrolls.

Confirmed things:

Combat so far has been pure ES - the only thing I have not seen is traditional stealth backstab insta-killing.
Movement and cameras are normal FPS/3PS player controlled.
Quests everywhere, and all types of normal ES quests.
Normal ES open environments.
Normal ES enemy NPC's
Normal ES companion/follower NPC's
Normal ES guards and other NPC behaviours.
Mounts.
Races.
Genders.

Possible from evidence but not yet confirmed:

You can steal and take items like normal ES (probably be limited to your own or group instances though or some other type of self limited mechanics).
You can kill non-essential NPCs (once again probably be limited to your own or group instances though and they will probably be a much higher amount of essential NPCs)

And of course there is a new levelling and crafting system, but those change from version to version anyway.

The only thing ES I haven't seen anything on is Vampirism and Lycanthropy but given that combat is normal ES combat I don't see any problems with having them.

The making it for consoles has me a tad concerned. I am wondering if the controls will be *streamlined* to oblivion.

I'm still annoyed that they keep MMO-izing my favourite series.

Luckily they had the forsight to place it far away from the setting of the main series so when it crashes and burns it hopefully won't affect ESVI.

I'm really hoping that it will turn out as cool as it looks. I'm also a little disappointed that it won't be cross platform...

I'll be continuing to keep a close eye on this title, and hopefully I'll get a chance to try out the game before it comes out.

Im looking forward to it. I hope it ports well to the ps4, it will be the first mmo I have ever played. I had a HUGE blast with skyrim (and fallout for that matter) so I have a lot of faith it will be fun.

the only variable about this game that will determine if i play it or not is its payment system. If its free to play I'm in. If its purchase I will play it. If its subscribtion based its chances fade, but that depends on the actual cost.

It started on the wrong foot for me. They had two basic choices, they could either make a traditional MMO set in the Elder Scrolls universe, or they could make an online Elder Scrolls game. The very early decisions they made put them firmly in the former category.

But then I saw some footage recently, and very regrettably, I thought "unnngh... that actually looks quite good!". I dunno. I think they cottoned on to the fact that what most people wanted was actually an online Elder Scrolls game, and they're trying to slowly morph the game into that. But why wasn't that the game they made in the first place? Unfortunately I think that initial wrong foot might be too much for them to make up, but I'll give it a chance anyway.

I've signed up to Beta AGES ago and I still didn't get a reply back. However that's a bit off topic.

What he said in the interview to me sounds much more Elder Scrolls like than the previous interviews. The one thing that annoys me is how they are going around advertising the game.
Diversity is a big part of the game, and believe it or not the Khajit, Argonians, Ogres, and Dark Elves are what will help people differentiate between which faction is which.
I'm sorry but in that one trailer with the castle seige I couldn't tell if the three characters were enemies or working together. It wasn't until the very end when they circled each other did I realize they were in competition.
It would of REALLY helped if they had at least one of those races I listed above present in the groups featured in that teaser.
But now, it was just the generic really pale elf, and a bunch of humans. Christ they didn't even have the Red Guards. I mean come on now.

Khajiits and Argonians are my favorite races, however that isn't the reason why it gets me mad. It's just that I really want this to succeed and so far they are only distinguishing themselves in brand name. However the trailers so far might as well of been the same WoW "killer" that we all see every other week. These races would really help have the game stand out.

This game is separate from the main series. While yes, it does take place in the far past where you can meet the living legends you read in Skyrim and previous installments the game isn't developed by the same studio.
Chances are Bethesda themselves are working on the next installment of Elder Scrolls.

Also I am a little disappointed this isn't going on the WiiU. I mean really now. This is getting ridiculous. They have a goddamn pro controller. But alas.

At the very least I have a laptop, so I still have hope of enjoying this game.
Same can't be said for others.
