Multiplayer and the ability to explore the WHOLE world, not just a specific province, the game would probably be a bit bigger than Daggerfall. Provided Daggerfall gets shrunk down to, say, the size of Cyrodiil.
Bethesda has always said no to multiplayer in their TES titles because they want to focus on the single-player experience, and I agree with them. If a game has been single-player only for four titles, it needs to stay true to the feel of the original series.

Not to shoot your brain-plane down, but I really don't there needs to be another Elder Scrolls.
The entirety of the narrative was brought to a crashing end in Oblivion. No more demon incursions... ever. The Daedra are out of any and all story arcs from then on, and the extended universe came together to one shiny Sean Bean tacular ending.
And that is where you are wrong my friend. The way Oblivion ended left Tamriel in turmoil. No Emperor. The Provinces would be at each other's throats in seconds. There was already enough tension between the races to cause issues. Also, even when the Dragon Fires were lit, and a Septim on the throne, the Daedra found ways to get around it. They'll still be accessible through shines, because they are an important force in the universe (seeing as they are the only changing force, the Aedra can only create).

Essentially, the ending for Oblivion was nearly as much of a 'PRAISE THE NINE, WE ARE SAVED' ending as you seem to think. Tamriel is still boned. There are loopholes in everything, and there are ways to fuck things up. Bethesda left us with a pretty decent 'ohshit' ending, in my opinion.

I know I wanted to punch Ocato in his stupid face when he was being all joyful and crap. No forethought. None at all. Pfft. Some Altmer.

Forget Oblivion ever existed. Go back and look at what made TES 1,2 & 3 unique as opposed to a more hardcore version of Fable. And, you know, make you're character actually useful rather than just being a guide for a guy who dies for fuck all.

so with my new awakened interest in The elder scrolls i decided to open this topic,
I want to know what does Bethesda needs to change in TES5 or to which continent do you want to travel.
So share you ideas or thoughts.

Anyway my idea for TES5 would be: the entire continent of tamriel.
The story would be something like: you are the son or daughter of the hero in TES4, the empire is in war and your father/mother died while going to war.
now it's up to you to take the role of general from you parent.
you can decide to either conquer or free each continent of tamriel.
i'd really like to have the thingy in Gothic 3 where you could change the current power in a city... and overthrow the leader and let another faction rule, or yourself while i'm at it!

First off, they're making a 5th one, as long as it's closer to 4 than 3, I don't care what they do. Though as a preference I'd like spellblades (melee combatants who use magic to augment themselves and their allies vs a battlemage who hides behind armor and uses attack spells) to be more viable, because I was pissed at how hard it was to just use light armor with spells.

Also, while it was a big part of the game, don't do scaling as aggressively as they did, I like feeling like I get strong when I level up, not the world around me gets stronger. In fact, the last character I made I never leveled up at all just so I could stay at level one and kick everything's as with my highly developed skills.

all there is to say:

- Fix the combat by making it more interesting, adding in special sword attacks, ways of combining magic with weapons, that sort of thing.
- Make the game larger, with cities that are actually cities, and contain more than say 50 NPCs. Even if this means that a large percentage of the population are named "Imperial Commoner".
- Remove scaling of monsters. The big bad guy should be able to pummel you at level 10.
- A greater ability to interact with your environment.
- Add in some interesting and likeable NPCs, and sidequests.
- Hire more than 5 voice actors. Seriously, Johnny Yong Bosch played every single male elf in Oblivion.
Ow and bring spears back... huge fail to cut out the first weapon of mankind....

I suggest we fast-foward it to the 22nd century where it's all post-apocalyptic and stuff. :D

...you mean Fallout 3?
Its true that the only difference in fallout 3 is that some house are bommend the hills are painted brown and there are assault rifle's now (Yahtzee taught me that =D)

I'll tip my hat to you on that, I'd pretty much disregarded the potential political underplot.

If anything that plot device is a free ticket to take the series in a new narrative direction now, since the previous titles have been linked to stopping a specific Daedra from reaping un-specific rage. Dagoth Ur (most popular for being the antagonist of Morrowind) has been used in TWO games in the franchise.

And yes, there's still the odd summoning nutcase or surviving shrine acting as a cheeky catflap for those dastardly Daedra SOMEWHERE in the world :)

I've only played Oblivion, so I don't know what I would have liked about other games in the series, but here are some of my suggestons/wishes for the series. Yeah, I know that this thread is mostly dead, but I'm posting it anyway.

* Make the mastery perks for magic be more interesting, rather than just unlocking spells with bigger numbers on them. Something like a Conjuration Master being able to either send one big summon after enemies or about 4 little summons, i.e. either a Lich or 4 basic Skeletons. Speaking of Conjuration,

* Make Conjuration more useful/interesting, especially to characters who like using stealth. I hate how when enemies detect your summon, they also detect you. Make some of the summons be creatures that you won't find in the wild, and have a few daily summons that can really hold their own and are unlike anything else in the game, like a giant lion-spirit thing that has ice-element affinities, or a great fire serpent. Maybe have these things as part of the reward from completing a faction, or require the completion of some mountaintop trial, just so that it'll be worth my while to use Conjuration when I'm a mage/stealh character.

* Overhaul the stealth system. Have some sort of non-lethal way to take out enemies, like a slow-acting tranquilizer dart blowgun, or just a cosh to the back of the head, so a thief can infiltrate areas without killing guards and thus incurring the unaviodable bounty. Make a character able to throw a rock or coin in order to distract enemies so you can sneak past or bash them on the head. Make castles have stuff worth breaking into them to get. Do something so that Invisibility/Chameleon doesn't totally break the stealth system.

* Have stuff worth buying in the shops, even if it's obscenely expensive. We need something to do with all the cash we acquire besides get more houses.

* Improve enemy AI, especially that of NPC's. They should work as a team if they're in a faction. Mages should stay in the back and sling spells. If it's a ranged area-of-effect spell, they should target not you, but things around you, like the ground by your feet, or the ground behind the pillar you're using as cover, rather than attacking the pillar from different angles.

* Make Necromancers do Necromancer-y things, like reanimate fallen comrades or use Soul Trap on humanoid characters if they have a Black Soul Gem on hand. They should be more than just "Summoners of Undead Minions with One or Two Destruction Spells"

*Do something to make enemy archers not suck so much.

This is all I can think of for now.
