Sources tell Kotaku that the team working on Command & Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight was warned of its fate today, with almost the entire team expected to be let go after the real-time strategy game ships some time in 2010.
Which was meant to be their last one anyway, as memory serves.

Never played C&C games but I know that they were considered the best RTSes on PC and console.
As for Joesph, I'll hire him to stand around and just look at the ceiling and scare my mates shitless.
T'will be fun.

If they are being kicked out, then they aren't exactly being given the opportunity to come up with a new IP now are they? So yes, it is still a tragedy in my eyes...

Kicking out Westwood...I'm sure EA Los Angelas will enjoy continuing the Red Alert IP Westwood created...

I thought the next C&C game was to be the last one anyway? If so...I'm unimpressed.

As much as I've like the series over the years, it began to get worse once EA assimilated Westwood and began producing the game itself.
I refer to the Red Alert series as evidence. 1+2 were my favorite RTS games, but RA3 was truly awful.
It wasn't quiet as bad with C&C3 (Micheal Ironside softened the blow)...but, I'm kind of glad it's ending before things got any worse...

Cause Red Alert 1+2 were made by Westwood, 3 was plucked from their hands and given to another studio called EA Los Angelas...

Which is great...cause C&C dies while the other IP Westwood made gets butchered by some other developers...

Never fails. The only character I don't want to die in a hail of bullets dies, mostlikely in a hail of bullets, due to the fact that EA is cheap. Never fuckin fails.

Ach, crivens.

But if what other people are saying is true, about it being the last game anyway... is really that bad?

And I have to say, EA destroyed the franchise.
So issan not all bad.

By the look of his Wiki page, it seems as if EA have done quite alot of work to cut this guy out of the system: they're shutting down almost all the teams he's ever worked in.
I've only ever played the Red Alert side of Command and Conquer, but now that a great hero (villain) of the series is falling from power, I may look him up and experience his Wrath.

Right. Let them finish the series and then move on to other projects.
EA isn't the right environment for anything but sequel-making, anyway.
This might not be such a bad thing for the C&C team.
