So, the update has been out for a few days now, so here's my thoughts so far.
Pyros. Pyros everywhere. The good news is they fixed the flamethrowers particles collision detection, so he/she/it is now the point blank range monster the devs made him/her/it out to be. Bad news? Half your team will be Pyros and so will the enemy. Get ready to be swarmed under a tide of WM1.
Most of the other weapon changes are for the better IMO. Especially the Danger Shield and Dead Ringer. The GRU/Dalokohs combo glitch needs an urgent fix tho. I'm getting tired of matches where there's a bunch of Heavies with 20.000 health running around.
The new maps seem ok so far. Haven't had much time to really get to know all the in and outs.
As for the new weapons.
[li]The Gas Passer is useful in some limited situations, but near worthless outside of that and unlike the Jarate/Mad Milk only really benefits you/other Pyros, rather than the whole team.[/li]
[li]The Thermal Thruster jetpack is fun, but very slow to switch to/from, making it risky as a jump in and burn shit method or as an escape button. It has some use for flanking, but it's noisy, highly visible and much slower and shorter ranged than rocket/sticky jumping.[/li]
[li]The Slap Attack is a joke weapon like the Holy Mackerel or Unarmed attack. Bitchslapping unaware snipers is fun, but other than that, there are better melee options for Pyro (Powerjack, Homewrecker if you Pybro for an Engi)[/li]
[li]The Dragon's Fury. Ooh boy, it probably needs some tweaking to make it less obnoxiously spammable. Maybe reduce ammo suply and projectile speed and size. And fix the dmg vs buildings so a un-Ubered Pyro with no overheal can't win a straight up fight with a lv3 by outspamming it anymore.[/li]
[li]The Second Banana is like a more selfish Sandvich, healing you less, but more often, but throwing it to teammates heals less. Overall[/li]
