Picture:
Name: James White
Age: 21
Race: Human
Origin: Earth
Morality: Neutral Good (Typically does what He believes is right, not because
somebody ordered him to or it's what's expected of him)
Clothing: Wears a grey t-shirt with navy blue sweatpants and black socks
along with a black and blue jacket with a hood.
Appearance: Stands about 5 foot, 11 inches in height. Fair skin with dark brown
eyes and short black-brown hair. Keeps his face cleanly-shaven and is a bit on
the bulky side, partially coming from frequently lifting heavy loads often.
Can typically be seen either staring off into space or keeping to himself.
Personality: Don't be fooled by first appearances. Although he comes off as
a bit quiet and distant, that's more from shyness or lack of anything good to
say. In reality, Mr White has a kind heart and is compassionate to a fault. He
hates seeing needless suffering and believes in people's ability to be free, to
choose their own lives and despises seeing individuals being treated as tools
or objects.
He does not hold himself in the highest regard though, being modest and simply
brushing off compliments or praise, partially due to his upbringing and being a
victim of misunderstandings. Also, he is not a violent person, and although he has
a strong sense of morals and standards, he sometimes struggles with making
certain decisions or even with his powers, whether he should use them to do the
right thing or to benefit himself. Despite not having the highest level of confidence
or esteem, he does what he can to help, feeling that even a single act of kindness
can change the world.
He knows some people find his views a bit idealistic, maybe even naive, but he
prefers to calling it optimistic, he has a strong degree of intelligence and wisdom
too and will gladly give advice and guidance but doesn't like to flaunt it.
Powers: Elemental Tarot. Depending on which Tarot he uses, he gains access to
various forms and abilities. The major ones he uses are the Sun, Moon, Star, Temperance,
Fool, Magician, Judgment And World. All of them share the common ability of Flight.
The Sun gives him, as the name implies, the powers of the Sun. His main weapon is a flaming rapier, she also commands
the Element of Fire,, allowing her to shoot streams of flame, call up fiery twisters and so on. However, he/she is vulnerable
to Water-based abilities. He likes to go by the name Akari in this form.
The Star gives Ice-based powers and her main weapon is a bow formed from ice and frost that fires powerful
bolts of frozen water. She can also manipulate ice to create barricades, call up giant ice spikes, release a
concussive blast of frosty wind and so on. Seira is her name.
The Moon is the Healer of the group but that doesn't mean she's defenseless. Alongside powerful healing
hands, she can use vines for binding and slicing and project barriers. Her main weakness is to Fire-related
abilities. She goes by the name Luna.
Temperance is based around Light/Metal. Her major weapon is manipulating gold metal coins into large floating winged shields that
can be used for either defense, or as battering rams. She also can summon a large battle axe capable of cleaving through most
armor sets and monsters. Her main weakness is darkness-related attacks. She goes by the name Ginka.
The Magician And Fool Tarots are ones he usually reserves for special occasions due to their sheer
destructive power. Magician creates all kinds of explosive pumpkin-themed devices while Fool deals
in blades of all sorts.
The last two are Judgement and World...perhaps the most difficult of all to use. They are phenomenolly
powerful, even moreso when used together...but they put such a heavy drain on their user that even
just a single use has the potential to knock him unconscious...or worse. Judgment calls down a massive
beam from the heavens while World allows a portal to be created to just about anywhere.
James believes they could be the key to returning to his own world...but he only uses these two
as a last resort.
Backstory: James White is not the kind of guy who likes to talk about his past
too much. Not that he's trying to "be cool" or give off the "lone wolf" attitude, far from
it infact. He'll tell you his life story if you really want him to. He grew up on modern-day
Earth and while his life wasn't all roses and butterflies, it wasn't all doom and gloom
either. It was more...dull and unfulfilling than anything else.
He was born and raised in North America. Growing up, he was a deep lover of things
like video games, tv shows, movies and what not. Although he wasn't the most active
kid on the block, he was by no means slow or stupid, being a quick learner when it
came to things like sports or games and what not. He also excelled in his studies
but this is where things...get a little complicated.
His parents were a very demanding pair who frequently put unrealistic expectations
on his shoulders and barely took notice unless he made them. Not only that, the
relationship of his family was very unstable. Further complicating matters was the
fact he regularly stood up to bullies or troublemakers in his neighbourhood, which
led to him being ridiculed by some adults who felt he was a "bad influence" on their
children. Being bullied and roughoused himself didn't help things.
Eventually, his parents had what he simply called a "falling out" and he was sent to
live with foster parents. Despite his poor self-esteem they helped him get back on his
feet and he managed to graduate from school at the top of his class. He started attending
college soon after and...this is where his life started getting weird.
It all began when, during a summer break, he managed to save up enough money from
his part-time job to take a trip to an anime convention going on in a town not far from his
place. His time was well-spent and he came away with some very nice merchandise,
including a set of Tarot Cards from the anime Daybreak Illusion. Also, yes, he was an
Otaku and darn proud of it too.
As he was sorting through his cards, he noticed the sky starting to ripple as a
quiet voice whispered in his ears,"Savior..Executioner..Fate..Defiance.." The sky
tore itself open as a vortex began to pull him in. He was sucked in and lost consciousness,
but not before noticing his cards absorbing colored orbs of lights and glowing..
When he came to he found himself in a world very similar to his own...yet very
different at the same time. It turns out that a scientist in this world was building
a homemade portal device out of a toaster, a satellite dish, a microwave and rigged
it with a nuclear accelerator...except it broke down almost immediately after summoning
the lad.
A giant monster suddenly attacked but that's when the Elemental Tarot responded, giving
Mr White the power of the Sun Tarot. After a tough battle, he destroyed the creature. Now,
while the doctor tries to rebuild the portal device, our hero is stuck in this world for the time
being.
Now he tries to make the best of his stay in this new world, even with all the
insanity unfolding around him...
