EDIT: Help reduce chronic facepalming - READ THE ENTIRE POST PLEASE... >.<
So what do we think about this split in the forums? Honestly, I feel like this move will reeeaaally bifurcate the community (not split it- oh noes).

I mean, Activision and IW would know exactly what I'm talking about.

Also I mean, for me to look at both forums at once, I have to lean over to my other screen... but the Escapist removed the lean feature...

When I emailed then to ask about the only had this to say about the escapist:

Also - I'm not serious, incase you didn't get the humour above... but more seriously, you guys like the new section? I think its a good idea, but economics and other stuff should maybe be added... I suppose alot of that falls under politics...

Oh and also I didn't buy it but I also don't believe in Boycotts- I'm just not interested enuff - /me waits for Bioshock 2

it happened for a reason. namely that 3/4's of the offtopic discussions were religion/politics.

Oh crap... well I know one section that I'm staying the hell out of. I'm predicting more locked threads than anywhere else. I just hope that means I won't see "WHY I HATE GOD" and "RELIGION IS BULL" and "REPUBLICANS ARE EVIL" in the Off Topic section anymore.

I reckon it's a good thing because now there will be less boring shit in Off-Topic.

Split in the forums? Where? Did I miss something?
Yeh - can't you see the Religion and Politics section?
How is that a split in the forums?. It's like it says on the tin, it's to reduce clutter.
I wonder does anyone ever read through posts fully that are more than 4 lines...

New subforum was a stroke of pure genius. Now we have a separate place to flame on about politics/religion/whatever. And what's more important, resulting gibs and guts won't clog the Off-topic section.

Oh I am sorry for not making that clear for you. Let me help in talking one palm off your face:

To bifurcate: To divide into two parts or branches

The Off topic section has not bifurcated. Why?. Because there isn't another bifurcation, the minute someone make an "Off-topic 2" then yes, you have a bifurcation but not until then.

The "Religion and Politics" section is separate section for discussions about "religious and political ideals and events" it hasn't "split" anything. All it is doing is reducing the clutter.

And for the record, I couldn't give a toss about it. Also, it would have helped if you had that entire post the whole time.

Whatever I added, is what's in bold...

Yeh... *FACEPLAM* - please read the post through to the end, and you'll see I meant the 'bifurcate' statement as a well humoured joke... all tied into a MW2 theme...

Which is probably why it was made.

Suprisingly none have been locked yet but there are about 20 pro-athiesm threads in there. Which is about half of all threads. Guess what? Yeah, they are every pro-athiest thread we've had in off-topic over the past month just repeated and containing the exact same responses... Kind of begs the question did athiesm just become it's own religion with an even louder following than actual religions?... Apparently so.

How is the forums split in anyway, I don't see the humor here?.

Also, where is the MW2 theme?.

All I understood was you wanted to know what we feel about the new section right?. So what has "leaning" and ohgodnvm!.

I've read it thrice already but still fail to see what you're getting at with the "bifurcation" or the "joke". If you feel the need to explain it to me, please refrain from doing so as I have lost interest!.
