Hi all.

I remember a year or perhaps a couple more ago, when The Escapist was released via .pdf, there used to be a download index here, where one could grab each issue to enjoy offline, on the bog, on the bus, or after a particularly uninspiring period of post-coital reflection.

The Site/zine has changed a lot since then....

Am wondering if there is any way to download a complete archive of the issues? Real Life [TM] and a lack of interest in modern games led me to spend less time reading about gaming, but I remember really enjoying the zine, so would really appreciate the opportunity to have a nice offline archive...

Any help would be very much appreciated! Thanks for reading!

I'd love to see some of those. If I'm remembering the article from that anniversary article they had right, they moved away from the .pdf format back in 2007, so you're going to have a hard time finding any users that even remember it first hand, let alone users who know how to find what you're looking for. (I certainly didn't know this place existed back then.) Heck, they moved away from weekly issues entirely some time in the last year, in favor of a site redesign with constantly updated content that is honestly a pain in the butt to find thanks to the redesign.

Thanks for the reply! I definitely remember reading an issue or two back in late 2007, whilst stuck indoors in the very deep north of Hokkaido due to torrential rain, but they were early issues I think, and have an archive of them somewhere, but have no idea which DVD that may be...Ah, well maybe I'd be better of contacting the staff do you think then?

No problem, glad to gelp. As for contacting the staff, you might get a better answer that way. You could try contacting Nasrin, the staff liason with the community. I doubt she'd know the answer to your question, but she should know who to talk to. You could also try contacting the tech team through their <link=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/Tech-Team>user group. If anyone on this site is likely to know the answer to your question, it would be Kross (the staff code monkey; if it's a functional part of the site, chances are he implemented it), and you can contact him through that group. In fact, I'd ask the question in the tech team group chat before I asked Nasrin.

Thanks again for taking the time to offer that advice, I honestly appreciate it. Will take the route you suggested, but must sleep now as it's past 3AM here in London [the original one]. I'll keep my fingers crossed and will be in touch if I have any luck!

Sorry for my excitement but I was cleaning up my E-mail which hadn't been cleaned up since 2007, and I found links to this [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/features/issue/1] I trust this is what you were looking for, I of course thought of you, so anyway there you go sir!
