I will be looking forward to the rest of these videos since my only reason for buying it is for my friend sake (who is a big fan and want me to co-op with him).
These video will be very handy for a dummy like me who knows nothing of the franchise.

I wish I could just take all the gold out of that Cauldron of Jordan, instead of sacrificing items :D

I herby humbly suggest that the cows and their own special level seriously need more screen time in such videos when giving away the gist of the Diablo Franchise.
With a complete history, developement and spinn offs...
But that's just my own opinion.

Mooooh!

So, are potions gone in Diablo 3 or have they simply been supplemented by these juicy red orbs?

If they're gone, I wonder how the heck you're going to survive the longer fights.. I remember needing quite a few health potions for .. well.. basically any boss. Especially Duriel. Big monster, hard hitting, very tiny space. It was almost not very .. fair.

Sorry for being a bit of a noob, but will this ever hit the consumer market? I don't have a battle net account, but really want to see if this game works on my computer or not.

Nay, potions still exist, but they have an awfully long cooldown (somewhere around 20 seconds)
I believe blizzard had stated that when -real- boss fights come around, the health globes will expand in variety and sizes to allow for more dynamic fights, where you have the decision of going off as the big baddie is making fun of you to get some health or continue to chop his heels off with your magical dagger of whateverhaveyou.

Don't forget that Duriel had a holy frost aura.

Yeah.

Yeeeaahhh.

You can! You get gold out of it :p There's also a handy cube to "disassemble" items, breaking them down to crafting materials. You'll have to bounce between either later on because crafting becomes expensive.

Still can't get over the damn crossbows on the demon hunter, no matter how many times I see it. CROSSBOWS DO NOT WORK THAT WAY. Crossbows have no recoil, for one. No, they do not kick like guns. There's no explosion that would kick it up. It launches a bolt out via the tension of the string, and there's really no way for that to somehow push back on your while shooting. And let's not even talk about the real glaring errors, because you can probably guess those.
I understand what they were going for, really, but couldn't they just have given her guns? You know, since she's already more or less using guns, only they're film-magical crossbows that will make any medieval weapon nut's (like me) veings bulge in rage.
But this is unrelated bickering.

On a more related note, nice vid, and I hope to see more in the future.

Hmmm, I guess I'll dig up my copy of D2, maybe slap on Median and play some... :)

I'll be following this coverage, but honestly, I doubt I'll buy this game once it's finally released. Too many odd decisions by Blizzard lately, especially in regards to the online stuff.

Yah, it wouldn't have been that out of place, either, since we know that the Assassins from LoD actually use mechanical devices, such as automated turrets. An early, maybe magically improved gun wouldn't be that far off.

By the way, I do love that they apparently got the same voice actor back to play the role of Deckard Cain.

For those of you who are in dire need of more Diablo 3, I can direct you to the youtube channels of two gentlemen who have pretty much dissected the content of the current beta:

You know what I like? That it doesn't look too different from its predecessors.
Graphics, schmaphics. Just be endlessly fun, damn you!

Whoa! Someone else playing Median! I miss my meleesorc. She was my best toon in there.

EDIT:
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/wizard#YcWVQi!VeX!aYacZZ

My wiz build. Skills taken not necessarily in that order (get the offensive spells first, teleport ASAP then figure out the rest.) Upon closer inspection, the only two melee skills are passive: the one that increases your wand's base attack (but allows you to leech life), and the other that shaves 20% off melee damage taken. So what I did are take the "shotgun" spells. Heck, even the Teleport does damage! A little dependent on white runestones though.

Typical would be to port in, Force Wave, then shock pulse the stragglers. Any enemy killed by the shock pulse will kill other enemies through exploding corpses. If there's anything I learned in D2 it's that exploding corpses are kewl. Although it might not be as effective here since the damage is based on Weapon Damage and not on the health of the exploded monster.

Also, since spell damage is based on Weapon Damage now, you might want to replace the wands into something heftier (if damage were the only consideration) because the Virtuoso passive might not be enough for pure damage. Come to think of it, this is a melee wiz because it wants to keep inside melee range, and not necessarily use melee attacks.

I really enjoyed my Holy Magic Paladin. Ring of Fire was friggin' powerful. Also, I had an oSkill build, a Paladin with Silver Dart and Plague. And I really enjoyed playing a Reanimator-Necro. :)

What was the last version you played? Mine was way way back. I think 1.E9? Still haven't cleared Duncraig with anything. Those sections that require teleports kill me. Once I port in, I get barrel'd to the face. If I use that potion which removes spell timers, I get mobbed so fast I get killed anyway. Still, 5-minute K3K clears are great.

Oof, difficult to say. I definitely played some of the later MXL versions, but I'm not sure which. One with an F in it? I've tried to keep up to date (recently downloaded Omega 003), but haven't really played any of the recent ones. Mostly just read the changelogs. ;-)

I never finished Duncraig, either. Some of those Uberlevels were really insane and only possible to do with some very specific, very overpowered builds. K3K was a lot of fun, though, yeah. And I really loved Fauztinville, with its "futuristic setting". Dunno how the balance is currently.

Frankly, one of my problems was that I wanted to try all sorts of different builds, started new characters etc.. I don't think I ever finished all uberlevels with a single character, although I suppose I played all the different ones with various builds. I particularily liked the Level Challenges. I remember way back when the hardest required level 10 or lower, man, that was intense. That was one of the ones where I was particularily successful with Ring of Light, by the way.
