The forum drop down menu is being re-structured to deal with traffic better. Apparantly it wasn't made in the best of ways and whilst it was able to cope fine back when it was only PubClub members who had it as that was a much smaller amount of people using it, now it is being applied to the whole site so it needs to be optimised to take stress off the servers.

Until then, the forum drop down list we have is a place-holder while ThyNameIsMud takes a crowbar to the current SQL queries improves the code.
Oh, I see. Never mind my complaint then.

Just saw my first 404 error, not unexpected really. But you got a good laugh from me when I saw the rainbow pony combo and the arrow to the knee reference. Are you guys going to keep updating the image/meme to stay current or in 3 years are we going to still be looking at ponies and skyrim references.

Question. Does the Escapist no longer have weekly magazine issues with articles tied together with by a weekly theme?

They stopped doing that in late June 2011 [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/editorials/editors_note/8982-Connecting-the-Dots-for-Fun-and-Profit]. If you want to read the new articles now you can go to the editorials page [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/editorials], and if you want to read the old ones you can fine the magazine archive here [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/apps/features/].

Ok I skimmed the first page and just wanted to say i agree with most of it. New site looks nice and works well... but its still slower than 2 old people fucking.

Like the new option to change background colour and font, but if you change the font size the dropdown menus at the top don't resize to to fit - particularly noticeable with the Videos Menu. Using Opera 11.60.

I still miss the "latest five videos" that used to be just about where our profile info is now. That encouraged me to try some newer series.

I quite like it. It's taken a bit of getting used to, but it certainly works. I don't know if it was necessary, but hey, it's your gig.

One minor issue I've found is that the dynamic navigation bar you've got doesn't work on touch phones. I doubt if anything can be done about that as touch phones don't have a cursor. Not really a problem, but a mild inconvenience if you're using a phone rather than a computer.

Yeah,
its terrible,
why are so many sites doing their best to alienate their customer base with dreadful "step backwards" redesigns lately?
the escapist was on my daily list, then I opened this mess up and recoiled in horror, took me 10 times longer to find my way around, hurt my eyes and as a result I've only been back twice since.
bad call lads, please don't go the gmail route of ignoring your customers feedback and TELLING people that they DO like it(when they 100% don't!)
we know you are better than this!,bring back the old layout,or at least make it possible to choose.

The design is meh, I finally had to use CTRL + mouse wheel up to fill all the empty space in.

As far as functionality, the site has never been faster, which is a huge thing for me.

Its a good step in the right direction, keep it up guys.
