My question guys, is what brought you to the escapist? Was it the awesome reviews? The unskippable Unskippable, or just the community?

I'd like your discussion here.

Yes, Zero Punctuation here as well. I've stayed because of the forums and ENN.

Came to the site for ZP, joined because it was one of the few sites my old computer could handle, stayed because I love a good Forum.

I used to lurk the Bethesda forums and someone linked the Oblivion zp and that kept me here for a while, then I started exploring other site features and discovered these magnificent forums that has, for the most part, one of the best communities I've seen on the web thus far.

Edit: Good to see you decided to rejoin us after your suspension/break Sleek. Hadn't seen you post in a while and thought that you had taken a more permanent leave.

I was linked onto the ZP Oblivion review from my old forum, I was here lurking for about ehh 2 years (maybe more?), then I joined.

Originally, it was ZP. I stayed for the Forums, though.
I've been a member here for 2 years, and I can't for the life of me remember how I got here. Though, honestly, it was probably via ZP. I mean, seriously - unless you are an editor here, you probably got here via ZP.

But like Aby_Z said, I stayed for the forums. I mean, ZP is great and all, but until Russ can convince Yahtzee (with a personal jet) to somehow do a new one every day, ZP alone is not enough reason to hang around. We have a pretty kick-a$$ community, as Interweb communities go, and it's worth hanging around to hear their drunken, half-formed ravings.

And the articles are okay, too. But just okay. Personally I'd like to see a little less "Harvard Games Review" and a little more "Community College You've Never Heard Of And PAR-TAY LETS PLAY SOME WRESTLING GAMES!!1!"

But hey, that's not the Escapist's fault.

I started watching Zero Punctuation in 2008 and then discovered the intriguing forums in 2009. After reading them without partaking in discussion, I decided that I wanted to join early this year.

It's interesting because the forums have almost been the icing on the cake of this site where the large mass of the cake is itself is the Zero Punctuation videos. At least that what draws in the majority of the members of the site.

The Zero Punctuation Halo 3 review.

Then I saw Unskippable, then Doomsday Arcade, then the forums.

Honestly I would love to go into detail, but I basically covered this in my 2 year anniversary thread, so yeah.

Yeah ZP for me too.

I ended up actually making an account for March Mayhem.

I still regularly watch Unskippable, ENN, Movie Bob. I'm kind of over ZP but I'll still watch when he reviews a game I've played.

Occasionally I get in a forum mood and will post for a couple of weeks then not for a while.

I, uh...wow. I knew about ZP through YouTube long ago, but (prepare to be flabbergasted!) I came here because of...Unskippable. Yep. I was talking to one of my friends about the Darkness demo ZP still floating around on YT somewheres one day, and he says "Oh, sounds like this guy. Didn't know he did his own stuff," and links me to the Star Ocean Unskippable episode, of all things.

So yeah, came for Unskippable, stayed for that and ZP, found the forums, creeped around for months, finally joined. Escapist story in a nutshell.

Yea Yahtzee brought me. Then I started watching Movie Bob, then I started looking at the forums and got hooked. Only one of two online communities to which I belong. I like this place so much, I became a premium member to support the site.

It wasn't ZP! ZP isn't the reason I'm here! Look at me, I'm the most individual person on the Escapist!

I'm actually here because there was a person on another forum with an Unforgotten Realms avatar; I asked him where it was from, because it looked cool, and so he linked me to it. Following that,I created an account in order to comment on UR videos, and that was when I became one of those scary creatures you know as "RPers" that you occasionally find slinking around these forums.
