I wasn't expecting any reviewers to give it good reviews. Face it, it's an audience pleasing movie. As redundant as the phrase "not for critics" might sound, that describes The Expendables pretty well. Is it going to change anyones lives? No. Is it a work of cultural importance? No. Is it art? Fuck no.
Is it a stupid, mindless action fest to shut off your brain and whoop to? Yes.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I watched it with a big smile on my face.
I will say this. It does not suck. Not at all, it's actually probably the best action film for years. Sure, it's dumb, and it doesn't have an original bone in its body, but who gives a shit? It's Stallone, Statham and Lundgren blowing shit up, and sometimes, that's all you need.
