This is similar to the butterfly effect. (metaphor, not movie)

I was sitting on the train merrily on my way to work listening to some Aphex Twin when across from me sits this gorgeous young lass. I noticed something peculiar about her... she was black (well, a very light brown to be precise. Definitely of mixed race) but she had the most striking blue eyes (they weren't contacts. I asked her).

I've never seen that before. It was damn hot. But I digress...

It got me thinking. A black chick with blue eyes. She must get a lot of attention because of that. I wondered how it affected her life. Then I got all philosophical and thought even deeper. How different would her life had been if she was born with brown eyes like the majority of colored people.

So my question is, do you think something as (seemingly) insignificant as eye color can have an effect on somebody's life? And, that if they were born with a different eye color, they're lives could turn out completely different.

I get the feeling I'd be single less often if I had green eyes.

Everyone tells me how great green eyes are =[

Did you ask her how she had blue eyes?

That sounds like my flat-mate...she wears colour contacts. She was talking to me once and I was just gazing into her eyes because it just seemed oddly attractive. Indeed, it took me a while to realise her eyes were no-longer blue, but purple on that particular day.

Okay, I need to get this up in the air. Would you have liked it if Anakin was still the happy-go-lucky bowl hair-do kid at the age of 20, knowing he was going to become one of the most iconic antagonists of all time?

Of course, every little detail of a person makes them, them. If I had green eyes, my life would be different. Just like how I wouldn't be insulted if I had blonde eyebrows. Yeah, people question why I have brown eyebrows when my hair is blonde.

Her mom is white, Dad is colored.
I didn't have much time to talk to her, but it seemed she got lots of attention because of her eyes and she sounded very proud of them.

Do you think you'd be different as an individual if you had blond eyebrows? Sure, you'd be treated a bit different. But would it change you from who you are today?

Yeah; the pale skin, black hair, make-up and stripes that he had been wearing right before that seemed to be the limit of his emoness...

/sarcasm

OT: I've only ever seen a black women have blue eyes once, and that was in a picture - exceptionally striking to look at it.

Of course it'll affect her life slightly, for one it seems to have made her that bit more attractive and interesting than she otherwise would've been.

I don't think it affects your life in a great way. I mean if it's pretty you are more than likely to pull the opposite sex since almost everyone has an eye colour fetish thing going on but apart from that, I dunno.

Its not so much the colour, But a lot of some ones looks come from their Eyes.
Eyes display a lot of things about you.

Obviously, the things people have said have fed my insecurities, therefore making me more aware of myself and more concious of how I look.

I really wouldn't know I'm afraid, I don't suppose eye colour would affect people, in OUR time at least, couldn't say the same for certain events in history.

That's exactly what I mean. Simple change in eye color can have such a big affect on how people see you.

Example, my girlfriend as hazel-brown eyes. it's makes her look cute and innocent. But she sometimes wears green contacts that makes her look very sultry/sexy. It took me about 2 years to realize I like her and should get to know her, I might have done it much sooner if she had green eyes.

Yeah, I think that pretty much everything in your life is dictated by the tiny bits of you that are different. Those tiny "insignificant" things are what makes us special, what makes us us. Our genes help to decide what you could potentially do in your life and it's just up to you to reach your full potential.
