The FBI Needs You to Solve this Code

I'm not giving up really but my question is really whether or not this guy was smart or unbalanced. The way they wrote this up makes him sound as though he is barely literate, the problem with that is there is no profile.

I am looking at, or I am pretty sure I am looking at a low level 41 year old Nissan Mechanic. If he is Bi Polar it would explain maybe why he is a High School Drop out, but if he is a functional autistic with a hobby of encryption? it would be a nightmare for me.

I am not sure what they are looking for, but I see a guy that is letter jumping with abbreviations, but no one and I mean no one hand writes build codes for notes unless maybe your training, there appear to be maybe two build codes, one VIN that is jumbled, a possible license plate tag. But the kicker is if your using a 17 digit number in context of the rest of the document then why would you scramble that number?.

There is too much in there for me to see that the guy is a mechanic, but if that is a code he is really smarter than they portray him to be. And that does not seem to be the case. A functional person with autism could easily slip through a school system and drop out, he could also easily fall into crime specifically sexual. But at the same time he could be brilliant and no one would really know. That's not were the FBI is saying.

I cannot pull an obituary or anything on this guy, he is a ghost other than the story on the web. I wonder why the FBI is on a 12 year old murder case like this, its definitely about the letter but why did it have to be found in this guys pocket?. Was it?, and even if it was, he is dead and their after code?.

There is more to this and they could be looking for something quite different and going to a lot of trouble considering the state of the body when they found it. This note should be run against St. Louis newspapers and previous crime there between maybe 1978 and 1999. I think this letter is a ruse.

Why would a law enforcement officer state that they can say it is impossible to determine murder at the same time their looking for a killer?. Not going to help the prosecution much making statements like that even if they caught him.

So you put the letter out and keep the demographics and wait for someone to pull something they can use in another case. There is a boat load of unsolved murders in St. Louis, so many as a matter of fact that chasing this one makes no sense at all. Unless your after something else and there are some pretty nasty child murders there.

The letter is old as the one domain name referenced in the letter went off line in 1998, I am pretty sure there is a 1985 Black Sentra in that note and at the time of death assuming these are cars, that vehicle would be 14 years old.

I would be putting these letters against open murder cases that predate the death of this victim.

Even if broken the FBI is not going to tell you, if the other guy is correct than they are looking at murders and possibly a body(s). It is jibberish so to speak but they want to see where he went. The note itself at least the pages shown are by me other than car terms that I see.

This looks like a (very advanced) substitution cypher, possibly without a reference (the person who made it may have memorized it)

I would say it looks like it could be a mathematic formula of sorts, where most of the letters should be numbers. Also, some strings are repeats. For example "PRSE" and "NCBE" among others appears several times. This leads me to believe:

Either
1) The repeating strings are the actual message, everything else is either padding or used to decode the repeats, within the parentheses.

2) The repeating strings are padding, which would make everything a lot harder.

I'll keep looking at this from time to time.

EDIT: And to those who think is is just random bullshit on paper and think that the FBI would have figured this out by now and should have left it... There is definitely structure in this, and that is probably why the case is still open. Trust me when I say if they have the best people in America on it, they not only have the ability to decipher very advanced code, but also call bullshit if it truly is just random junk - or even if it's structured junk made to look like a cryptogram...

This guy is a complete nobody, he has no profile because there is nothing to really say about him. You can rule out computer code as he probably did not use computers, he probably did not read much and he may have stolen cars.

He is not a highly functional person in any way, as a matter of fact he is totally dysfunctional which is why this is done this way, he is operating on a low level memory system because he cannot function, he is a walking mess with no straight means.

He tries to function but his head moves too fast, he is out of control. He can calculate but is so unpredictable he does not know what he is going to do. It looks like he scrambled a vin code in a manner that is not dyslexic but calculated and there was no reason to do it. He does not operate on reason so there cannot be a code.

The guy is just not all that intelligent and whatever the FBI is looking for its not a code like the other gentlemen stated, they got this guy on something else and the lack of profile is because he really does not have one.

Anyone who thinks this is anything structured is out of their minds, the man has no structure and barely functions. If he has a code, its his code and breaking it is like trying to get in the mind of a psychopath.

Had enough of this guy, you think its a code then break it. But going to be tough cause the feds are holding more paper and it is probably more clear or it deviates in structure in a manner that would allow for the release of these documents. They have to know what the other docs are to release these.

I think or am of the opinion that these guys have hold of a serial killer. The code they want is M.O code.

I think it is the FBI's attempt to get back at Anonymous. The FBI knows that this sort of thing will circulate the interwebs and that /b/tards will probably spend a lot of time trying to figure it out. The message probably says, "How do you like it when we fuck with you? You'll never get those hours of your life back. lol kthxbai. luv u - FBI"

On a more serious note, I think the different angles people are seeing in this is kind of like an inkblot. Some see computer code, some see car info, some think it is medical info and others think it is a recipe for meth. It is interesting.

There is a picture of this McCormick guy floating out there on the web, but that may not be his real name. I cannot find any newspaper reference or obituary notice anywhere, what his real name maybe is John Doe II. A dead guy their using to front these letters out there without raising eyebrows on what they are really looking at. And that's not pretty

It is car language, I am sure of that, but they are not looking for this guys killer whoever he is. And if he does exist they are looking at him for something quite different.

They have a killer out there, maybe its this dead guy but not sure. If it is, he deserved to have his head kicked in.
