Guess the germans know they can't overextend themselves in soccer and blitzkrieged the Brazilians on their home turf. Also someone is selling the Brazil team's dignity on e-bay, I didn't think they had dignity left after that game.

I've never seen a game like this. I hope Brazil manages to re-group before their next game and I hope there won't be any riots/violence after this game. Geez... 7-0

EDIT: 7-1
At least they got one, that saves them a little bit of dignity. :D

To quote someone elsewhere on this forum, "World Cup 2014 just had its Red Wedding".

Any news on whether any part of Brazilian civilization is still standing?

Love how the commentators went "Oh look, the germans are furious they let in that one goal."
They were proper rimming Germany. The english commentators always praise the winning team furiously, never commenting on their mistakes just the good stuff and acting like they're the best thing since sliced bread until they lose. Everyone was bigging Brazil up throughout the tournament and now they're saying that it's the worst Brazil side ever.

Brazil needed this guy today:

I think I jinxed Fred by betting on him to be top goalscorer.

Fred better find a place to hide or score 5 goals in the 3rd place match. It seems like Brazil has decided to blame him for this whole debacle, judging by how much they booed him that match.

I watched the game with my father as we do every world cup, and I was actually told to stop laughing as I was just overwhelmed by those 5 goals in the span of 15 minutes in the first half. I'd told him before the match that Germany was going to win with ease (though I didn't expect 7-1), he thought Brazil would win... so he wasn't too happy for a while but he later started having a laugh.

I suppose after the Germans, the happiest people will be the Portuguese. After all this scoreline against Brazil of all teams makes their drubbing look reasonable by comparison.

Ohh...oh Brazil...do you...do you guys need a hug? ;_; They were never all that solid at the back but I never would have foreseen what a complete defensive omnishambles Brazil are without Thiago Silva to organise the back line. Can't believe they killed the game within the first half hour. Fred has to be the most useless first choice striker Brazil has ever produced, Hulk's been disappointing all tournament, Fernandinho looked completely lost, Willian was much more deserving of a starting place than Bernard and David Luiz once again illustrates why putting someone who's essentially a center midfielder in defence is a bad idea; why he was overrated at Chelsea and why PSG are fucking mental for shilling out £50m for him. Really hope Holland can pull off the ultimate revenge for 74 and 78 because I really won't have anyone to root for in a Germany Vs Argentina final. The Argies have been the most mediocre side to reach the semi's, I mean they really should be looking better with the talent they have, winning by one goal each game against pretty pedestrian opposition (I'd say with the exception of Belgium if they hadn't been equally disappointing to watch) but Ron Vlaar's injury is a huge loss and Messi is always going to be dangerous, so I think it'll be tight but hopefully the Dutch can pull through.

I watched the game at a coffee store and the Brazilian couple sitting next to me left at half time. Don't blame them. At. All.

Brazil's defense was terrible on the first half, David Luiz tried, but playing alone on defense was impossible.
Fred as always didn't help, neither did Bernard. On the second there was a slight improve, or at least I think was a improve, Germany might have tone down a bit in order not to take risks and keep the score they already have and they made two extra goals anyway.
Also, I been getting reports that people went bat shit insane on the stadium after the game, I guess that's bad sportmanship for you.

I have so many pictures and shit I would post, but I'll just post this brilliant closing piece that the BBC did with Lorde's cover of Everybody Wants To Rule The World.

I would imagine so. Did you see/hear how the Brazilians started cheering for the opposition with "olés" during the second half? The bad blood was palpable.

EDIT: News reports of rioting and flag-burning in Brazil a few hours after the match.

Yeah, after a while stop being a "fuck this" situation and startet being downright funny, I did hear a dude cheering for Germany calling out "Shirley" for one of the Germany players whose name is apparently very similar to Shirley.
I think if we face Argentina in the 3rd place match and lose then I pretty sure the country would downright explode, because for some reason we see Argentina as a rival to be hated.

Well the clientelle I was with was cheering for every German goal, so I suppose the feeling is mutual. Stupid neighborly rivalry I guess.

I haven't seen all of Brazil's games, but why the hate for him? The defence failed miserably, why isn't Luiz blamed?

Amazing German play by the way.

Dutchman here. Whoever wins between Netherlands and Argentina, I'll be rooting for the Germans in the finale.

And while I'm happy for Germany's well-deserved victory, I still feel bad for Brazil's players, particularly regarding the abuse hurled at them by their so-called "supporters". Truly disgraceful.

I'm living the day after here. The roads looks normal, people going to work, not many flags on the cars, it feels like it was all a dream. Or more like a nightmare. That was depressing, shameful and downright soul crushing.

Give credit where credit is due, well played Germany. Couldn't do any better.
I don't know what happened to Brazil yesterday. That's unsurprisingly the talk of the day. I was mentally prepared for a defeat, Germany is a better team. I wasn't prepared for the avalanche of goals though. After the silly mistake of the first goal and the speed they got their second, our defence evaporated.
Not even Neymar could save us there, the germans opened a crater on our defense. I knew we would miss Tiago Silva more than Neymar on that game but honestly, don't think it would be much different.
Now we need to get what's left of our soul and play for the third place, though I wish there wasn't such a match. Whoever comes, they're more than likely to beat what's left of Brazil.

Moving on, unlike the rest of the country, I'll cheer for Argentina so at least the title stays on South America but I won't be sad if the germans gets it. They proved several times on this world cup that they deserve it.

Bleh I'll be missing the Holland-Argentina match tonight so leaving my voice of support here: Gl hf Argentina!

Dutch team were the second most dirtiest this world cup after the Brazilians and Messi is kinda a football god so would most enjoy a Germany vs Argentina final.
