Spiderman on an AT&T computer running the XT Gold operating system (of which I can find no evidence as ever existing). 5 1/4" floppy disks that are actually floppy, 16 colors, surprisingly long, CPU speeds under the megahertz barrier, dot matrix printers... damn, I sound twice as old as I actually am. Oh well, still a superb game that I wish I still had.
[EDIT] Here's how little information exists on XT Gold: a Google search of "XT gold" -hunter -spirit -sprint -radeon (for reasons that become evident you search without those exclusions) turn up this thread, my post very quickly.
[SECOND EDIT] Okay, a titch more digging finds XT Gold was some sort of DOS shell. As I recall, it was still command line, so what was the point? But no matter, now that I know it was DOS Spiderman, I have hope of finding it again.
[EXTRAORDINARILY QUICK THIRD EDIT] An abandonware site just turned this game up. You cannot imagine my joy right now.
