It looks the enemies are straight from Decent.
WOOT! Someone else thought this other than me! I am going to be playing this whole game as a spiritual sequal to that movie.

Huh. I might just pick up a copy while it's on their weekend sale :)
You definitely should. It is one of the best games that I have played. Even just exploring and filling in your map using triangulation is fun (well actually that is what you do most of the time so it should be).

This is a game that I have been waiting to see for a long time. And it proves that a lot of the concepts that I have for a horror game are now feasible for even indie developers.

Wow that looks creepy. I don't have the stones to play this but I'll love watching the LP's of it. Idea looks great and I'd like to support it in some way.

The free roaming and world interaction parts have me more interested than the horror aspect, to be honest. I've seen at least one of the monsters in the trailer now and wasn't terribly impressed. Hopefully it'll get moodier as the launch date closes in, otherwise I'm just going to treat it like I'm Solid Snake in a jungle with Resident Evil mutants everywhere that (maybe?) only come out at night.

Fuck yeah, finally something that tries to go further then "You walk like a turtle and there is some unkillable monster (Slender oh oh oh) coming after you, good luck on hitting the Retry button every 5 minutes to beat our 20 minute game".
indeed
this kinda reminds me of the L4D2 Last Man on Earth mutator, especially in the first campaign or in The Parish, how fucking scary they managed to be and it didn't even need the typical survival horror motifs, since you were properly armed, there was no shortage of ammunition, healing items were not rarer than the god damn stones of ephemeral eyes and it was (in those campaigns at least) broad daylight
all you needed was yourself, silence and the sounds of the various infected and it was some silent hill shit right there

I like the look of this, although I kinda hope there are more monsters than just those or they've kinda killed the scary unknown feeling right there. Upvoted it anyway, want to see where it goes.

Well this looks like something new, interesting, and awesome. Might finally test out my new pc if it has a low-high graphics system combined with everything else. Lets just wait and keep a eye on it

OR support? Nice!(we can start using acronyms, right?)

A wee bit sceptical of the whole "open-world" aspect; it seems like it would either dilute the horror side of things, or turn out to be not really that large of a world to explore. The rest is just marketing fluff. We'll have to wait and see.

Cool enemy design, though.

Captcha: foul smelling.

I know :( couldn't help it..

The trailer did say on the bottom left that this was pre-alpha footage. The model/skin could have just been a placeholder just to show off how they would function and not actually represent what they would actually look like. A lot of companies do this in order to make sure the enemies actually work in the game before they commit resources to designing the aesthetics.

It's a fairly poor trailer of a really interesting-looking game, sort of feeling like Minecraft by way of Miasmata. Hopefully they can improve the look of the enemies AND work on the quality of their trailers.

They finally did what I've been wait about 10 years for. Shame its a tropical island instead of somewhere more creepy like the Black Forest, but I'm sure they have their reasons.

I shall be looking forward to this.

Only thing is, will the island be full of interesting places and things to explore? If not, then it will be boring as hell after a while. But we will have to wait and see i guess.

I understand, but in this case I wouldn´t have included that in a trailer shown to the public, right?

So who the hell is making this game? I don't think I've ever seen such a spartan website, there's like 3 screenshots, a trailer, and a description of the game. Nothing else, no "about us" or anything like that.

Ahem.

HOLY SHIT I WANT THIS. Seriously if this game delivers on that trailer it will be amazing, most likely there will be limitations, only certain trees you can cut down etc but good grief if it can deliver.... don't suck. Miasmata was okay, I personally felt abit let down by it, wasn't quite as good as I'd hoped (also ran like shit on my pc) this promises much.

Well... I wouldn't call this a trailer, but rather the developers holding it up and going "Hey, look what we have done so far. How's it look?" All they're doing here is showing off the currently completed elements of the game. I highly doubt the finished product will look at all similar to this video.

Would have been a lot scarier without the piano soundtrack.
Hmm, yeah, that just gave me thoughts of "Oh dear, it's another Dead Island". Still, having an open-world approach could work pretty damn well, might keep an eye on this one, and I'm not even that into horror games (Far too easily startled and most of the time they're just not interesting to me)
