When it comes to controversy, it doesn't matter if people like it or hate it. Likers will post in support, haters will bash, as most bashing occurs in said controversial topics.SharPhoe said:If it's controversial or involves bashing someone a person doesn't like, people will flock to it. Simple as that.
No, the topics that pander to the lowest common denominator get the most replies, and people allegedly don't have time to think about poignant topics.NoMoreSanity said:The thought provoking ones do usually get a lot of responses though. I find some of your topics interesting, Vrex. It's just sometimes I choose to stay out of the conversation because of some of the heated vocabulary being tossed around, you know?Vrex360 said:Welcome to MY world. I try to ask questions about the state of human nature or old classic movies from the past and don't get squat sometimes. Fortunatley most of the time people do actually respond.
True. I know I come to these forums mainly to have fun...I spend most of my time in the forum games section, where I can just spout off whatever kind of weird crap comes into my head most of the time, without risking moderator wrath or having to think too deeply about my responses. I do enough thinking during my offline time. While I occasionally pop into the more meaningful threads, most of the time it's a brief foray into the cerebral zones.xmetatr0nx said:Well that sentiment screams of pretention. It's this tiresome simplistic and tiny thinking of the masses that lower the standards of any great website.
This is a thread, not a forum. The forum is the format of the website. A thread, or topic, is what we're discussing. So this would the the thread thread (which may lead to confusion among The Escapist sewing circles - is my Metroid quilt done yet?) or a topic topic.sagacious said:What makes some forums rack up replies like STD's in Thailand while some other, probably more thought provoking forums (not this one), seem to shrivle and die alone, unloved, and with only a handful of replies?
Not taking any shit seriously whatsoever is why eight patron users have left the Warcry forums.xmetatr0nx said:Well that sentiment screams of pretention.
