But kudos for not insulting Halo. That seems to be a rarity these days.

Doom is clearly the best thing ever. But seriously I do love the Doom games... except 3.

I'm curious as to your opinion of Halo 2 and whether the intense bashing it receives is justified.

On Topic: I am very sad that Quake 2 was not mentioned; its the FPS I've had the most fun with... so long as Synergy (a source mod) doesn't count.

I was very late to the Halo hype and I only played Halo 2 for the first time properly this year.

And really I thought it was very good. The story telling seemed to improve in Halo 2. The Arbiter missions were always very fun. And the section with 'Blow Me Away' playing will be stuck in my head forever.

I didn't get much of a chance to play the online... but what I did play was actually very good, it clearly wasn't as refined as Halo 3 but it still seemed like something that if I'd had it at the time I would've been completely hooked.

The cliffhanger at the end... I don't mind cliffhangers as everyone knew it was going to be a trilogy anyway... the only thing that annoyed me is the fact that the graphic novel 'Halo: Uprising' bridges the gap.

Really IMO there shouldn't be a gap to bridge. But It's a fairly small complaint and I do own the graphic novel so I know what happened.

All In all Halo 2 was an epic experience and definitely doesn't deserve all the bashing it gets.

I didn't understand a word of that, there was no video games in the 1950's.

i didn't talk about the 1950's. at any point. this is a thread about you talking about you playing FPS's. by FPS i assumed you meant "first person shooter", and you discussed this popular genre without mentioning Call of Duty Modern Warfare 1 or 2 (CoD 4 and 6 respectively).

you intend to talk about FPS's you probably need to mention the two biggest, and those are the two biggest, even if you don't like them. and i don't think i was ranting, im confused how you got that so i will move on.

way state opinion as fact. cod6 was the best selling game in history but that does not mean it is good. BF:BC2 is not the best fps in history. It is literally a rip off of modern warfare and although it does it well, it still doesnt do much for the genre. In addition your last comment is rather stupid. saying that someone has to hate or love something is almost as bad as the moral choice system in bioshock.

prefix: no i agree BFBC2 was utter shit, especially considering the gem it is a sequel of. I think that BFBC1 is the best fps. however thats opinion.

and the point is like it or hate it, good game or not, MW2 was the best selling fps ever. it hard to justify a thread about fps's where you don't even mention it. i wouldn't be saying this if the author had just said "mw2 arrived, it was shit."

So you really like MW2?, I prefer KillZone 2 online myself, I liken MW2 to Killer Instinct (the fighting game) because when your on a roll with a combo/killstreak you get some seriously overpowered moves/toys.

And then the next game your thinking you'll do well and you get creamed by the opposition.
