I do like your idea of choosing a class of trainer though. And which town you start in. Those sound really cool!
Agreed. I for one am tired of always being a 10yo with a heart of gold who treats pokemon with love and compassion. My play style is closer to the antagonist in G/S (strenght= success>fluff= failure), it'd be nice to see someone acknowledge that instead of "You're super nice, everyone likes you!"

And don't get me started on the option to join the bad guys

It was done in Silver. It can be done elsewhere. I found that twenty times more neat to go from Johto back to Kanto. All the Pokemon are kind of unimaginative now. I mean a keyring Pokemon, really?
So what if it as done before? There really isn't a reason to go back to any of the older regions besides nostalgia and like Tizzy said it would be redundant and tedious to do so. In G/S/C Kanto was there because it as meant to be a sequel to R/B/Y with the whole Team Rocket resurgence plot but all it was there for was a nostalgia trip, heck some areas were cut just to save space. I would much rather have them focus on making the new region good instead of wasting time and space updating older regions.

And Klefki is 3 times as imaginative as some Gen 1 Pokemon. Muk and Dugtrio don't look like they had more than 15 seconds of thought before being chosen.

I'm sorry but that really doesn't make much sense. If you want your Pokemon to be strong then you have to be nice to them. There is little benefit from actually treating them poorly. Even if Game Freak Decided to implement something to let you abuse your Pokemon I really doubt that they would provide any benefits for doing it.

Ive already accepted that Gamefreak arent going to change thier ways while they work.

And as such i moved on from Pokemon. Might give the Hoenn remake a spin if MH4U somehow manages to not consume at least 3 months of my life.

How so?

They have trains, planes, and boats in Pokemon. And in other games you have traveled by plane, boat and trains.

Instead of having everything attached together. Only load the map and area you're in. Then you can use a plan to travel to the other regions or whatever.

Shin Megami Tensei, Fossil Fighters, and Conception II are all 3DS games that feature similar mechanics to Pokemon. Guess what sells better? Hell, you want to play a serious, mature-rated Pokemon game? Play Shin Megami Tensei for crying out loud! It came before Pokemon and will take care of all your gripes. Just don't demand a game to become something else just to suit your own needs. Also, potential sales =/= actual sales. How many times have we seen people demand something and, when someone does it, fails because those mysterious people decide not to buy it.

OT: No, no we are not. We are not the primary audience of Pokemon. GET. OVER. IT. It's fine that you outgrew Pokemon, people outgrow things all the time due to changing tastes and preferences. What isn't fine is demanding that Game Freak drives its primary audience away just to satisfy the loud minority focus group. Said focus group already being the center of attention of 99% of other games anyways. And, in fact, Pokemon X and Y was designed so that parents could play with their children and bond together.

Furthermore, why is everyone saying that all the regions would be a good thing? No, think about it. The entire reason for the regions is to gather Pokemon from a small level and level them up as you move along the path. Once you finish one region, how are you going to do the other ones? Gold and Silver had this problem and it will be compounded by more regions. Just because it sounds nice doesn't mean that it will translate into a better game.
Indeed, which is kind of the whole point of Nintendo as a whole. They've ALWAYS prioritized making things for families and children. It's why you've never seen Mario, Zelda, Kid Icarus, Donkey Kong, Animal Crossing, Kirby, Star Fox, and tons of others have never tried to "grow up" with their audience, because that's NOT growing UP, that's growing OLD. I have seen so many brands shoot themselves in the foot by trying to be "grown up" and in turn come off as all the more juvenile for their efforts. It would, at best, make for a small, short-term boost but end up doing a lot of damage in the long run.

I'm not talking about abuse in a monster blood sport; I'm talking about finishing with a team of big and strong pokemon praised for brutality and scolded for failure, not trying to catch 'em all, saying "ya sure" when team whoever tries to recruit me, and being judged accordingly by Professor tree at the end

I'd like to see the actual numbers on Pokémon fans ages.

I'm fine with the core franchise as it is. I wouldn't mind some more spinoffs, though, and a spinoff Pokémon game like this would be cool.

Well I'm 22.

I have no problem playing a 15 year old, but for some reason playing a 10 year old just doesn't sit right with me. hahahaa.

I'm sorry, but this agitates me a lot.

"The Future IF Pokemon"? Seriously...?
Yeah... Unless there's some ellipses attached to that title, it's really jarring, to say the least...

OT: Yeah... That sounds more like it would work better as a side game more than a main game, really... I will admit that more [deeper] character customization would be welcoming in future games along with a new region to explore and all that [usual] jazz... but, considering this is still a game geared towards children for the most part, I doubt they would even consider doing the same thing they did in G/S/C only on a more grander scale, to say the least...

Your idea sounds good to me, op: To be honest, game freak have been releasing near enough the same game (granted, maybe a new feature or two) since Pokemon started, yet with each addition making the monster designs increasingly uncreative and flat out poor (the thought of a Bidoof/rubbish bag pokemon/ice cream pokemon makes me cringe). at least your idea would shake things up a bit, and allow players to go to the older regions so they can get the Pokemon that don't look like ass (IMO, of course)

Pokemon suffers in the same way Yugioh did.

Cutification.

Which is odd considering the very early Pokemon games were not very cute to look at. It was after the anime and it got popular that it got cuter, and cuter, and cuter. To the point where I just can't.

In the first two games, Silver, and Blue. I remember your rival being a total ass.

In Pokemon X, your rival is your friend, and everything is about friendship and the way your Pokemon feel good. I don't mind feeding and making my Pokemon feel good. But Pokemon has gotten real soft and touchy feely as of late.

Even the badguys suffer from cutification in some way or another. Team Flare is a joke compared to Team Rocket or even Team Magma.

edit-

And I mean come on. If any other trainer can have narrow eyes, like this

or this

Why does my main character have to always look like this
