Something like a mixture between Brütal Legend, Bayonetta, Final Fantasy and Wolfenstein. A strange shooter hack n slay with both strong action and rpg elements, heavy metal, a occult world war 2 setting and a japanese touch. Hell yeah.

All I'm seeing here is "this game's X with that game's Y" (and The Game which I subsequently lost). When the OP said Perfect Game, I thought back to the impossible beast I've been thinking of for years.

This Game is nearly impossible for me to explain politely, so I'll be blunt. The Player is God. Not a Christian god, not a Judaic god, not an Islamic god, just simply an all powerful being with complete control and power. That alone sounds like fun, but I also enjoyed the Sims and RTK8 when I was younger and they left an impression on me. I'd like to have a living, functioning world, where the Player could inhabit one Character at a time and experience the world around them at that time. Have a character grow and age with society around them. Become a driving force in history or merely a pawn to an ambitious NPC.

It would include an effective timeline, where a Deity could go ahead fifty or a hundred years and see the consequences of past actions. Each time the Player wanted to start a new world there would be settings from the type of inhabitants to the magic available, to the landmass and basic geological functions. Or you could just hit random a few times, too. There could be a large Pantheon of Gods and Demigods and such, or a monotheistic reality. Artifacts like flaming swords and such could appear and create legends and history that one could play through.

To make things more difficult, however, are a few nuances. Player can only travel forward in time, not back. Must earn God Mode, by destroying the current deity, or something else similar. Possible side rule of Character Inhabitation, once you "leave" a character, you cannot return.

There are many, many possibilities here. Like cultivating germs in a lab, one could seclude a village with some mutation and have fun with the results. One could have "Bloodline Artifacts", a Sword that will only ignite if held by a descendant of "Bob". May even be reason enough for hereditary rule.

This is the Perfect Game in my head. This is what I think about when I have nothing to think about. I'll never play this game, I doubt it will ever be made. But damn, it looks fun!

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Sim City meets Crackdown and/or Prototype.

What's better than an open world for you to have fun in and explore? An open world that you created, that's what.
I like this mans idea, that would be so damn fun, endless possiblities of awesome-ness

Ya I've heard of it, but my only decent PC had been this laptop for the last year and a half, so I never did try it out.

For a firm place as my favourite game it'd have to be a huge scale rpg.
Character development, huge world(s), massive depth and detail in the environments, seemlingly unlimited items and quests, stories arching all over the place, tons of co-op features and an amazing battle system.

I want a game that i can play with my friends and still be discovering new stuff after years of playing. Have 200 hours of gameplay and still manage to find some enjoyment. Every time we beat some epic final boss an even stronger one lies on the horizon.

THE Game would be about killing anyone who does that annoying as fuck "I just lost the game!" shit.

It would use a special engine to correctly replicate the interactions between objects and the environment, and you'd get bonus points for killing someone just as they start shouting "I LOST THE G-", and you could increase your multiplier being creative and not using one combo over and over. For added fun, play with friends; at the end of the round, whoever was in last just lost the game, so they can earn extra points by avoiding the rest of the players for a special bonus round, gathering more points by screaming "I JUST LOST THE GAME!" without getting killed.

And here the title made me lose the game.

DAMN YOU OP!

OT: Shadow of the Colossus for the PS3.
I know it's only rules to announce it, but regardless, an "Oh, you mother" is required.

On topic, my perfect game would be a sandbox hack-and-slasher with the best damn physics engine you've ever seen, the character design of Sims 3, and have some RPG elements. It would also be a puzzle-platformer. First or third-person perspectives could be chosen.

I said it would be a sandbox. It would be a sandbox through time.

I'm not too sure but i think its a really easy game to run on anything... and is quite old so you coul play it on a year and a half old laptop... i tihnk...

I could play it on my computer without a graphics card so you have to think that you could play it on a laptop...

What would be your perfect game, just if someone made a machine that made a game perfect for you what would it be...

mine would be a mixture of bioware's story telling skillz, oblivion's open worldlyness, and crysis's graphics, and it would be an rpg =P
Why ask a question if you're going to answer it yourself?? I mean seriously - I could not agree more with your choice if it came with free cake!!

The RPG stuff, first person view and details from Oblivion,
The RTS stuff from Age of Empires II,
The Scale of Sins of a Solar Empire (lots of planets to play on),
Some stuff from Evil Genius,
A shiny red button you can push in case you really don't like someone,
The possibility to design and build your own spaceships (inside and outside), weapons, and bases.

I can safely say the OP is the most "damned" person on escapist.

OT: Perfect game.

Zombie game
DETAILED GORE
ZOMBIES....THE WALKING HUNGRY ONES
First person.
A lack of guns.
Maybe some co-op thrown in (online or offline)

Simple-scary-shit.

inFamous meets Half-life meets Tf2 meets Jak and Daxter meets ratchet and clank meets Fallout 1/2.

No idea how it will work, but it would be awesome.
