The games that frustrate us

Either because we can't complete one level, the controls are tricky or for other reasons.

Mine is super mario 64 for the ds. I get so close to the end of a platform and then end up either falling down a pit or hit by a missile...yet I keep on playing.
Platforms are addictive but frustrate me more than any game.

I never played any game as frustrating as the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series.

Seriously, I went in thinking that it'd be a bit like Tony Hawk but much more advanced, and I found out I was right: it was much more advanced than what I could actually manage.

Also, Dead or Alive 4. Being someone who managed to spend one night beating story mode with all the characters in DOA3, I figured that there was some enjoyment to be had in this game. Instead, it whooped my ass several times, and I couldn't even make it past the first story-centric fight. To this day it still holds my record for fastest return to a game shop at two hours.

Call of Duty. Also, Fallout New Vegas due to the MANY MANY bugs.

From the more recent ones: Super Meat Boy comes to mind.

Those big dog/hunter/whatever they were called things in Prototype with their cheap ass attack that knocks you around like a tether ball. Fuck them
