The gaming thing, at which point does it become "sad"?

So whats the alternative? Tons of TV? How about caring so much about people who are famous for being rich/famous? Should I just get a soul sucking job to pay the bills till I die in a nice house that I fully paid off, but cannot keep with me in the afterlife?

I intend to be a gamer till I die. I tend to build a relationship on gaming. Any guy I am with for the long run, prety much has to be a gamer. Certainly more effective than building a relationship on appearance like most that get sour once the sex does.

"Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time."
I think that just about settles that. I play games like I read books and watch movies. I play for a fun experience. When I'm done doing that, I play when I have nothing else to do. When friends aren't picking up their phones and when I'm not going out to work out or practice martial arts. It's a time killer to keep me from being bored. Tv is much the same.

I've left the kind of 'awesome' parties (you usually see on mtv) to play a videogame (not sad)
I've confused game mechanics with the real world (sad)
Gaming all weekend (lan party) (not sad)
Dying because you didnt eat or sleep due to gaming for days (sad)
Feeling too tired and/or lazy to do your own household or go to a party, yet simulate them in The Sims (debatable)

And this:

When your MMO account gets banned and you have a fit which becomes the most popular viral thing on the web.

When you realise you enjoy gaming more than real life

When you'd sooner play them than go out with friends

Probably when it gets to the point that you're only really playing to fill some kind of void rather than for the entertainment and challenge...I can relate, and I gotta tell you it's not pretty.

If the only people you talked to whole week were the same 3 guys as always.
And it is sadder if this only happened online.

when you'd sooner play them than go out with friends
or this (but lets say "meet" instead of go out. If they just want to hang out its ok too still a reason to unplug from the webs)

When a friend of mine woke up at 9 in the morning to play the Gears of War 3 beta, instead of meeting his girlfriend (who he lives with her in her parents house) at the train station which is a 5 minute walk at the most.
