My adventure seen me vernture to the farthest parts of my town centre in search for the one game to rule them all, Sniper: Ghost Warrior(ahh ok so maybe not the one game to rule them all but it makes a decent go of it), but my attepts were futile. It didnt seem to matter which store i went to, be it GAME, Gamestation, GameSwap, HMV, Asda, Tesco, Morrisons and i think we ventured deep into the deep and confusing cave that is Cash Converters at one point, but we always got the same answer "We are all sold out" Damn.........

In the end i gave in and ordered it online, but theres something strangly fun about searching for a game, even if it does leave you feeling slightly disapointed you couldnt find it.

If you have a tale of great adventure, your own mini quest to find that allusive game title, then feel free to add it here.

I'm still searching for several region exclusives regardless that I'm broke at the moment. (Yeah, Regional Exclusives from like 20 years ago x.x.)

Quite a while back when I was still playing ps1 games I lost both FFVII and FF tactics (they may have also been stolen) and I looked through every game and electronic store for new copies but no such luck.

Actually soemthing happened only just yesterday and that was me trying to find Demon souls black phantom edition. I looked in three different Game Stores, A HMV and a gamestation to no avail. So in a last Ditched effort i went to CEX and they had a Dozen Copies! which is nothing short of extraordinary. All that looking for nothing but at least i have it now which is something to be happy about.

Well, not me personally. I'm pretty lucky when finding games. But a friend of mine was hunting down the Lost in Blue games and searched every EB Games from his place to mine (that's about four hours worth of distance).
A few weeks after he eventually ordered them in, I walked into one in the city and found all three as trade-ins. Needless to say, he wasn't as amused as I was.

I literally travelled to a foreign country to import a game. I travelled to a country so I could buy a game from a third country, and bring it back to England. Then I took it to Berlin and promptly lost it, along with my DS. Sadness.

I also searched the pits of every store in a massive radius to search for a copy of Tales of Symphonia. Absurdly, there were none. Damned Internet and its having everything.

Hunting down Read Dead Redemption was rather fun. Especially when I saw it at the same GAME a week later, for good 10 EURs cheaper.

/rrraaaaage

Or SC:Conviction Collectors ED. Same story. But 30 EURs cheaper.

/rraaaaage

Oh well. Had to have it right then and there or I would'a been miserable. Or so I tell myself.

Where the heck do you buy your games that are more expensive than GAME Sweden?! I thought GAME was as expensive as it got. Or maybe it's just my local store which has outrageous prices.

I sometimes go there and look in the bargain bin, but I buy all new titles ANYWHERE ELSE.

GAME is expensive. Very expensive. Fucking outrageously expensive.
[sup](coming from someone who never had the luxury of buying her games in a store before, as she had to order to get proper english original titles--and now has grown too impatient to wait for mail orders and exploits the ability to buy original titles in a store)[/sup]

... but they seem to have the habit of lowering the prices on the games that I bought a week or two ago. Which sets me into a slight rage whenever it happens.

... just like STEAM, actually. Buy game, play it and be happy, two weeks later see it on sale for 50% less. Commence with rage.

Welcome to Sweden, where all games are proper english original titles.

Also, I have a bunch of games that my only excuse for not buing is "I'm waiting for their steam-sale."

[sup] there are other stores than GAME where you can buy independent titles...[/sup]

I've had a mini quest this morning. remembered seeing something about an interesting game that I did really find out much about so looked it up. the game being persona 3 portable. read some reviews and watched some vids and was impressed. (I love a good JRPG) I then try to find somewhere to by it online. Amazon.uk not there, weird. Then tried GAME and found it..... to pre-order. turns out that it came out in the states last week or something but the uk release was still TBC and the only part of the date is showed was 2011. What!! I have to wait a year!

10 mins later got it up on ebay to import it (as psp games don't have region codes)

Mini quest complete!

OT: I know this is about hunting in shops but this was still hunting

I guess when Borderlands was first released they didn't realize how popular it was going to be, so no game retailer in the entire city ordered nearly enough copies, and when I went to get a copy (the day after release day) it was sold out everywhere. I checked EB games, Best Buy, Futureshop, even the video store, and nobody had it. I was about to give up in defeat, when I phoned a different EB games (closer to my house) one last time, and they said they had one copy left. I put it on hold, and about half an hour later I was back at home playing my new game. And it was awesome.

My adventurous hunt still continues for legendary PS1 games. I've managed to snag Parasite Eve 2, Final DOOM and Alundra so far, and then when uni living came along with a nice huge rent bill so I had to sell me swag. I'm still hoping to go in a charity shop and find copies of Tombi and Legend of Dragoon on sale for like a quid each.
