That track is amazing, sounds almost something straight out of a bond film.

I actually have a rather large OST section on my ipod, so I will limit this to my more niche stuff.

The Senran Kagura Series has a good OST, very fitting for a brawler, with unique charcter themes that drive you forward. Here is my absolute favorite:

This track from Super Paper Mario. Really great villain theme, manages to convey both his feel and personality in music form:

And keeping in theme with great charcter themes, here is one from Asura's Wrath. The western influences gives it a unique feel that helps to single out the character from the rest of the cast.

The Ys series has really good music, in every game. There hasn't been one game I played where I didn't download at least several tracks afterwards, and I played lots. No other game series has achieved this with me. That makes it hard to pick favouries, so I will just post the first bit of music of the series I was exposed, which coincidentely comes from the game with the best OST out of all of them:

Xenoblade and Xenoblade X have good, albeit very different OSTs, both definitly deserve a listen. Though the OST for the first game is slighty better. Here the standard boss music from both games respectively:

This piece from One Piece Pirate Warriors is perfectly used during the boss battles final moments. Rarely has something felt more epic than punching Crocodile through the roof while this played on full volume:

I could go on like that for quite a while, so I will stop it now. I'll end with a small japanese indie shmup that has a OST that doesn't need to hide from anything with a big budget behind it: ETHER VAPOR Remaster

Oh I almost forgot about Amnesia: A Machine for pigs, the game wasn't as good as the first one but it did have a great soundtrack.

So many...here are some I've been listening to a lot lately:

This one makes me so happy.

Really beautiful.

Every time this would play in the game, I would just stop and listen to it. I believe it plays in Build/Buy mode.

All of PvZ's music is really good.

BG&E. <3

I love how it starts off sounding a bit generic and then just gets crazy. XD

Classic. <3

Two of my favorite characters in FF.

Plus the Sonic 2 OST. All of Sonic 2's music is fantastic.

Well to start, that Inon Zur sure knows how to work wonders because I haven't enjoyed a Fallout soundtrack in a while.
Lets not forget this gem from the Left 4 Dead 2 soundtrack, Coach sure knows how to pick his bands.
I'd pretty much consider any of the soundtracks in this game to be brilliant but I have to give it to these two for really getting to me
My favorite swordfight music ever
This being a close second
And this just kinda catching up close behind

I think I get subconsciously drawn to games with outstanding OSTs. Almost every one of my all time favorite games have remarkable music. I have a knack for picking up and memorizing melodies, so a good OST goes a long way in how much nostalgia I feel for most games.

I suppose I'll link some favorites of mine (forgive me if any of them have already been posted):

Bastion and Transistor definitely. Its the only ones that I actually sought out.

The 40/50s music of Fallout 3 (and 4, but they should have had more variety). New Vegas was irritating because it didn't have such a good selection, but that goes hand in hand with that world - bland. Bioshock is a pretty close second

I would also like to add FTL, Hotline Miami and some of Witcher 3's music

I'm afraid no one will understand my deep love for the LISA soundtrack...
I'm a sucker for eclectic sounding music, and LISA fulfills that.

Also, I freaking love Dizzy's theme from Guilty Gear. The pacing, the sound, I could play this theme in any match with any character and the blood would be pumping. The entire series has a fantastic OST, but this is one of my top favorites.

Also, for an OST that epitomizes the themes of the game, the Turok: The Dinosaur Hunter soundtrack, full of rumbling drums and electronic influences, fitting the theme of a world where all time periods have come together into one. Darren Mitchell's work is seriously underrated in Turok 1 and 2.

Anything by Yoko Kanno. Anything by her at all.

She can do sweeping orchestral tracks

If you're looking for video games only, look for Other Yoko, Yoko Shimomura.

...The obvious answer here is Sonic 3 and Knuckles: Doomsday Zone.

It's just the right music you want to be playing as you chase Eggman through an asteroid field.

The lack of Soul Reaver music in this thread saddens me.

Well the reason I couldn't mention that or The Faunts song from Mass Effect is because those weren't compositions done for the game. Just music they got for the soundtrack from outside artists.

So as much as I love those pieces of music, I can't say I like a whole soundtrack based around my fondness for those musical compositions.

Vigil from ME1. So freaking depressing. Most of the OSTs in this series kick ass, but this is my favorite. The one that plays during the suicide mission being a close second.

The ending theme from Axiom Verge. I haven't gotten there yet myself but I FUCKING LOVE IT!

Most of the Metroid Prime OSTs, but since you're twisting my arm and making me pick, Phendrana Drifts

Undertale has been done to death, but just about every OST in that game was gold.

Oh, wow, there are so many.

Silent Hill has some of the best music I've ever heard in a game, partly because it fits the atmosphere perfectly. The music was sometimes better then the games. What amazes me is how much emotion was packed into such a creepy series.

The Soul's games had a lot of duds, but when the music mattered, they delivered some of my favorite tracks of all time.

And, of course, you can't beat the simple beauty of FF7. It just hits me in the feels every time. It's easily the best FF soundtrack ever made. Uemetsu really outdid himself with that one.

If I am only going to recommend one, it would have to be from De Blob. If I had to recommend two, it would be that and De Blob 2.

Oh go on, I'll add The Neverhood too.

Don't get me wrong I like big dramatic sounding OSTs too, but a lot can sound a bit samey.
